Our Most Reverend Lyn Gibb de Swarte’s Evidential Messages from Harry Houdini

It was my great privilege to have interviewed on my radio show, the Most Reverend Lyn Gibb de Swarte, who gave evidence from Harry Houdini.

A Most Distinguished Career

Lyn has enjoyed a most distinguished career in whatever path she followed; from ice skater and author to journalist and editor of Psychic News for seven years.

Being a mental and physical medium and healer, she founded the “New Christian Spiritualists Society.” She is also known for presenting astounding evidence from famed illusionist and escapologist, Harry Houdini.

Mediums are Constantly on Trial

I feel blessed to have read Lyn’s front page article in the March issue 282 of Psychic World about one of my favourite subjects: “Mediums are constantly on trial”.

It is sadly a fact that we often feel that we have to constantly prove ourselves because of those in power, despite governments and other institutions spending millions on covertly weaponizing proven psychic and spiritual practices.

Reverend Lyn’s article also covered The Witchcraft Act and the fact that renowned physical medium Helen Duncan was tried under it. She describes how many Spiritualist mediums were hauled in front of the courts under dubious charges.

Skeptics Are Quieter Now

Thankfully, many skeptics have been quiet about the concept of life after death for a long time. Hard evidence, scientific and otherwise, has mounted up to such a degree over the years, that it would probably be quite humiliating to try to prove otherwise.

Unlike other religions, it is amazing to think that Spiritualism, can be repeatedly humiliated by accusations of fraud. Yes, there have been some instances but not as many as people may have been led to think.

Spiritualism has attracted a barrage of unwanted fraud allegations and medium bashing, with repetitive calls to “prove it.” No other religion is so berated for its views. But perhaps that’s because we can prove that there is life after death.

No Cries for Other Religions to Prove Life After Death. Why?

We don’t hear cries of “prove it” thrown at the Catholic church, Islam, Buddhism or any other religion. Why is that? Possibly because there would be serious backlash. I mean, how dare they attack religion?

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that Spiritualism can and does prove the reality of life after death, and that communication with spirit through skilled mediums is most certainly real and supported by science. That in itself may be considered by some to be a very dangerous thing for people to understand.

If people can see that we are ultimately free with god given, inherent rights … mass free thinking would most likely create potential carnage for the self-appointed ruling classes.

Rev Lyn Recalls Harry Houdini’s Last Official Séance

Houdini Image, Canva

Another fascinating aspect of the article was that Lyn was involved in the last official Harry Houdini séance of the 20th century. It was filmed by an Italian production company but never ever aired.

My personal theory is that Harry Houdini (without being named by Lyn) provided substantial evidence that he was there but skeptics and the like didn’t want the footage to be shown.

For about an hour, Lyn conveyed information about Houdini that she received via her helper on the other side, Doris Stokes. Houdini himself spoke to her as Eric (his real name).

Lyn explained that toward the end of the séance, Houdini asked her several times to say that “It was all done by mirrors.” Initially, she flatly refused, as she knew that the audience members were all professional magicians, and mirrors were the stock-in-trade for many. But she eventually agreed and said, “The gentleman who is here wants me to say that it is all done by mirrors.

At the end, Houdini Museum curator Sydney Radnor, now in spirit, gave a positive speech that included reference to the séance, which surprised her. He also stated that he had some gifts to share and “they were not to be opened until you got home”. They were created by a craftsman in great secrecy.

Unsurpassed Evidence from “Eric” in the Statement About Mirrors

As Sydney passed around the boxed gifts, Lyn did wonder about the praise she received. Sydney’s stage name was Rendar the Magician and she later learned he was trained by Houdini’s brother.

When Lyn got home, she unwrapped the present. It was a small replica of a magician’s triple mirror which allowed the reflection of an object and made it ‘magically’ appear and disappear.

This was another form of proof of Harry Houdini’s presence and that his intention to reveal information was clearly evident.

Why the Silence Surrounding Houdini’s Presence?

The seance was never mentioned anywhere and as I previously stated, the film was never aired or shown. I dare say that skeptics would not appreciate it if the evidence produced that night, came to light.

It is of course, deemed as ‘dangerous evidence’ by those who would prefer hold the truth from us.

The Spiritualist’s Handbook

Lyn is also an author and has written the brilliant “The Spiritualist’s Handbook,” a concise and extensive guide to Spiritualism and all its practices.

Would King Solomon Approve Of Modern Day Freemasonry?

Time To Conjure Up Some Facts

I decided to buy a book about Freemasonry after conflicting cyberspace claims caused me to ponder if they were good guys, bad guys or a strange brew of both. I settled for The Key to Solomon’s Key: Is This The Lost Symbol of Masonry? Second Edition, written by Lon Milo DuQuette; author, magician, master freemason, singer-songwriter, recording artist and humorist. He believes that every one of us is our own self-contained King Solomon:

We are suns not planets, atoms not molecules, kings and queens, not subjects. The fundamental unit of society is not the family, not the community, not the nation, not the church, but you and I. Until we come to the full realisation of this fundamental truth, we remain like unenlightened Crusaders, fighting and dying for someone else’s absurd fantasy cause, slaves to arbitrary and impersonal outside entities, unable to recognize (let alone fulfil) our human potential.

The Key To Solomon’s Key

In my experience, nothing beats a spiritually nourishing, well written book, especially by lively, old school authors who enjoy a smattering of controversy. The publication of The Key To Solomon’s Key allegedly rattled the cage of Freemasonry’s exclusive inner core, which probably did them the world of good. Thankfully, DuQuette didn’t suffer the same fate as Freemason William Morgan who, in 1826 or thereabouts, allegedly broke his vow of secrecy by working on a book revealing the organization’s secrets. Morgan mysteriously disappeared and lodges consequently saw a big dip in membership.

Welcome to Chapel Perilous

The Key To Solomon’s Key is well-paced, honest, illuminating and refreshingly entertaining. Part One, Solomon’s Secrets, hits the ground running with confessions and secrets aplenty about this mysterious age-old order. (Freemasonry’s documented history dates back to around 1717, the height of the Enlightenment era.) Part Two, The Magic of Solomon, provides comprehensive, step by step magic lessons and even lists the names and biographies of 72 famous spirits of ‘Mighty Kings and Princes’ that allegedly escaped from King Solomon’s Vessel of Brass. Heavenly and hellish stuff all rolled into one. (But where were the Mighty Princesses, I mused.)

“DuQuette’s book carries a ticking religious timebomb of historic proportions just waiting to explode. The implications for our time are provocative.” Arthur Rosengarten, PhD.

The opening lines of the Introduction penned by James Wasserman, who describes DuQuette’s work as a ‘manual of Gnosis’, are well worth repeating:

Brother Lon Milo DuQuette is about to take us on a guided tour of Chapel Perilous. He has asked me to make the following announcement: Will all readers please fasten their seatbelts.

Many of the concepts and questions to which you’ll soon be exposed may be altogether new. Some may threaten your most closely held beliefs and childhood conditioning. We ask only that you approach with an open mind and a willingness to continue your own research when you emerge from these pages…We will be encouraged to become “a principal player in the great plan of creation.”

Why Masonic Lodges Are Closing

If, like me, you have had zero interest in Freemasonry for most of your life and considered it to be nothing more than a charitable old boys networking club, here is an official definition from the Fellow Craft Degree Free & Accepted Masons, California Cipher, Grand Lodge of California. F. & A.M.:

Masonry is a progressive moral science, divided into different degrees; and, as its principles and mystic ceremonies are regularly developed and illustrated, it is intended and hoped that they will make a deep and lasting impression upon your mind.”

Sadly, Duquette reveals that this definition does not reflect what all Masons think the Craft should be. Many now feel that the esoteric roots of this ancient institution are “an embarrassment – queer and unwholesome links to paganism, the occult and even Satanism.” Oh dear. Worse still, there is a concerted effort taking place within Masonry to “once and for all divorce the Craft from its esoteric heritage, and make it an organization open only to men professing certain specific religious convictions.”

The author suggests that this is why Masonic lodges are closing and fewer men are attracted to the fraternity. Traditionally, candidates need only profess a belief in a Supreme Being and a form of the afterlife. But today, there are jurisdictions and lodges around that world that won’t even consider an application if the candidate’s religion is not mainstream enough, or his interest esoteric nature of the craft is suspiciously intense.

Are Our Younger Aspiring Masons The Answer To Spiritual Bankruptcy?

On the brighter note, DuQuette confirms that a significant number of younger Masons are joining the order because they are passionately interested in the esoteric and mystical aspects of the craft:

They come on a personal spiritual quest rather than to exploit opportunities for business or political networking; or the quaint traditions and ceremonies. Some, including the author, view their involvement in the Craft as a magical initiation – a new beginning, or awakening – a conscious decision to become more than they are.

Perhaps a breakaway Freemason fraternity is on the cards.

Oh Solomon, Where Art Thou?

If I had to choose one favourite aspect of The Key to Solomon’s Key, it would be DuQuette’s dogged dig for tangible evidence that King David, King Solomon or Israel’s golden kingdoms actually existed. I must confess that I found this dilemma to be rather amusing given that King Solomon is the central figure of both the secret rituals of Freemasonry and forbidden rites of sorcery.

I realise that for some readers this may sound uncomfortably like heresy. Please don’t misunderstand me. I believe it is certainly possible that evidence may someday be found that supports these particular biblical accounts.

DuQuette also confirms that 12th century Jerusalem’s first Knights Templar who had the exclusive opportunity to excavate the alleged site of King Solomon’s temple, also discovered no tangible evidence to suggest that King David or King Solomon ever existed.

Can we rely on biblical accounts alone?

Arguments To Support The Author’s Controversial Claim

1. No mention of the name of David or Solomon has ever been found in the mountains of surviving records kept by the Egyptians or the Assyrians or those of any other neighbouring nations who were allegedly defeated in battle and for years paid massive tribute to Solomon.

2. No archaeologist has uncovered their tombs, a tablet or inscription bearing either of their names or the names of any of their kin or colleagues as outlined so explicitly in the Bible.

3. Most conspicuously absent are any records whatsoever of seven years of taxes and labour levies for what the Bible suggests should exist for 183,000 workmen conscripted locally and from foreign countries, documents which most certainly should be found in abundance among existing contemporary records.

4. Considering the fact that the Holy Land is an area of the world where digging has taken place for centuries… it is almost inconceivable that such celebrated kingdoms and powerful world rulers such as David and Solomon could remain so completely invisible to the archaeological record.

If you happen to come across any hard evidence to suggest otherwise, I’m sure that Lon Milo DuQuette would love to hear from you.

Transcending the Confines of the Bible Narrative

Image: Canva

Religion exalts mystery as an unknowable secret that must be fearfully worshipped from afar, while initiation requires direct participation and demands each of us to evolve our abilities and worthiness to receive the spiritual treasures.

The intrepid author swears that he is breaking no vows of secrecy by sharing that the ceremony of the third degree revolves around the story of King Solomon and the building of his temple. Some of it is taken directly from the Bible but most of it concerns a patently non-biblical story – a dramatic myth unique to Masonry.

He reveals that this ceremony gives the new Mason permission to meditate on sacred mythological truths existing outside the strict confines of the biblical narrative; that perhaps something was buried beneath the Holy of Holies of the Temple – not the fictional Temple of Solomon but the very real ruins of the 1st century BCE temple of Herod the Great.

Almost as if to say “You know – those Bible stories of David and Solomon and King Solomon’s Temple? There’s something underneath those stories. You might want to dig into it.” Masonry urges all her members to use the Volume of the Sacred Law as the Great Light in their profession.

Modern Templar treasure hunters suggest that the Masonic myth points to something buried beneath Scotland’s Rosalyn Chapel whose foundational footprint is said to be scaled to that of Herod’s Temple.

Who Wrote the Books of the Bible?

I have been asking the exact same question as DuQuette for over 30 years. He is of the opinion that we don’t know who wrote the books of the bible. However, it is clear that from approximately the 6th century BCE, multiple scribes and authors were involved including Prophet Jeremiah and Ezra the Scribe. But what we do know for certain is that for the greater part of the last two millennia, western civilization has relied upon the Bible as its primary source of historical information. It was the first book printed in the 1450s and for the next few centuries, it was more than a book. Says DuQuette: “It was the book. The unerring Word of God. Conversely, anything not found in the Bible was considered equally untrue.

The author is of the view that the historical and archaeological fingerprint of the Hebrew people united by a single religion and occupying a nation with its headquarters in Jerusalem, is non-existent. And according to Professor Norman F Cantor, author of The Sacred Chain, the first Millennium of Jewish history as presented in the Bible has no empirical foundation whatsoever.

Revelations That Would Have Vaporized The Authority Of The Church

Furthermore, the author points out that the narratives of both the Old and New Testament are linked and supported by the story of David and Solomon. If this capstone is removed, not only does the historic integrity of much of the Old Testament collapse but a major facet of the credentials of New Testament Jesus is also radically altered. After all, the gospels go to great lengths to demonstrate that Jesus was a direct descendant of David and Solomon.

Removing this capstone would also be unsettling for pious Muslims, despite their differences…and what would happen to Islamic traditions that also presumed to reach that far back into biblical history? In the 12th century, such faith-crushing revelations would have threatened to vaporise the authority of the church and reduced to ashes concept of the divine right of kings that had been the foundation of the social order in Europe and the west for 1000 years. It would have turned the world upside down. It would have been the most dangerous secret in the world.

Predicament of the Early Templars

DuQuette also recognizes that while it appeared obvious the church was intimidated by whatever the Templars had, it would have been futile to confront this omnipotent establishment directly. Not only would this have put the early Templars in a position of perpetual danger, the secret would have isolated them from a world represented by the religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam religions that revered certain books of the Bible; religions that owed their very existence to the adherents’ belief that they were descendants of certain biblical characters, and that the Bible narratives were historically true.

The most dangerous secret in the world was also the world’s most blasphemous heresy. The Templars would become the most Easternized Westerners in the world – men who saw the bigger picture of life and culture – men who dreamed greater dreams than those of their fellow Europeans – men who tasted the forbidden fruit of knowledge – their eyes were opened and they became as gods.

Important Tips for Budding Magicians

Last but not least, here is a sneak peek into Part 2 The Magic of Solomon, Elements of Spirit Evocation. Without giving away too many secrets, I considered this particular question to be a fitting choice to include in this review.

Under what circumstances is it appropriate to evoke the spirit?

1. First you must have a problem – a real problem. Before enlisting the aid of spirit to resolve the problem, you must have done everything in your power to take care of the matter by regular means on the physical plane. That’s magic too.

2. The problem you wish to be resolved must be a personal matter. You can’t do magic for someone else. When you formally evoke a spirit, you evoke an adventure. Adventures are not always pleasant and can be dangerous, even deadly. If you survive, you’ll emerge from the experience a better, wiser, braver person.

3. You must feel totally justified in doing what you are about to do and have a deep emotional involvement in the matter you wish resolved. Once you have evoked the spirit, you must be able to consider the spirit as the personification of your problem (for in essence, that is what it is.) The spirit has to listen to you, so you better know what you want to tell it. It’s either going to shape up and do what you command or you are going to annihilate it.

4. Don’t make deals with the spirit. In a very real way, you’ve been unconsciously making deals with the spirit your whole life. That’s why you have your problem. The whole ceremony is your formal way of branding your subconscious mind with the idea that you are through making deals with this tangled piece of ignorance, flawed perception, fear, vice or addiction (take your pick, they’re all demons.)

Freemasonry Liberated Millions In Its Heyday

Image: Canva

In its heyday, Freemasonry helped liberate millions and led to the founding of governments built on the principle of the consent of the governed. Perhaps the suggestion to expand that doctrine to read ‘informed consent’ can be reviewed by the inner core that currently stands accused of some startling allegations by a reputable UK intelligence and law agency.

What To Do About Corruption At The Highest Levels

My research into Freemasonry has also revealed that the original principles and ethics of Freemasonry have been corrupted at the highest levels and need to be urgently addressed. Some learned circles have suggested that Freemasonry is rotten to the core but arguably about 90% are decent people trapped in a bad system, and most are unaware of the hidden practices of the inner core. This seems to be a common theme across many occult societies and power mongering organisations that do not have humankind’s best interests at heart.

To conclude this review, I have chosen the following passage of liberating wisdom that can be applied to everyday life by us all:

To achieve progressively higher levels of consciousness, you must become a new kind of person and we have to start that process the same way the legendary Knights Templar did – by first liberating ourselves from the great delusion that keeps most of us in a state of spiritual bondage – the delusion that we do not create our own reality, the delusion that we are helpless victims of someone or something else’s reality. This seems like such a little step, but it is in reality a quantum leap of consciousness, a fundamental shift of self-identity.

The Key to Solomon’s Key unlocks a treasure trove of mystical historic tales, and a wealth of wisdom, wonder and controversy. DuQuette’s book is certainly worth making space for in your personal library, or requesting your local public library to order it in for you. The perfect companion to Dean Radin’s equally enlightening book, Real Magic. I wish the younger esoterically inclined Masons well on their unfolding journeys.

Occultic Deception Exposed: Why The Meek Are Inheriting The Earth

I wonder how different life may have been if the Australian school curriculum included more seeds of useful knowledge. Like, my inherent birth rights, basic principles of law and wealth creation, the history of the greatest occultic fraud on earth. How a small, shadowy group of self appointed ‘rulers’ only appear to control the world, why I am perceived as a slave under Roman Law and why the word “legal” is defined as “The undoing of God’s Law”. The list is long. If it wasn’t for the surprise arrival of Corona in 2020, I may never have pondered such thoughts or had the time to research so many compelling, expansive topics. Thank you Corona (1650’s Latin meaning: crown; garland).

The Truth Really Does Set You Free

This story essentially focuses on how forbidden knowledge gently beckoned me to learn about how the world really worked; how the masonic and illuminati founders of our current political and legal systems, deceptively created a global legal fiction that now encompasses millions of potentially invalid laws that control most aspects of our lives. It has been a lot to take in but well worth the journey because the destination has taught me why we, the meek, are right on track to inherit the earth and its glorious abundance on all levels.

Talk about truth laid bare. A liberating flame of the purest truth.

The Value of Understanding Occultic Fundamentals

One of my favourite ‘walk your talk’ occult educators is Mark Passio, who succinctly sums up my feelings about the benefits of understanding the fundamentals of the widely feared and misunderstood occultic realms.

“A small minority is discovering the real dynamics of control and power. It’s all connected to occult hierarchies that do not have the interests of the people at heart. We need occulted and esoteric knowledge to understand how natural law works and how our free will behaviours work with natural law and manifest what we want in our lives. If humanity collectively does not align to our inherent natural law rights, and goes along with the enslavement system, then we will see more shut downs of human rights – from covert to overt slavery.

‘Occult’ Means the Culture of God or the Way of God

Passio’s insights also align with some of the occultic discoveries I made whilst researching an earlier PDN article, Better The Devil You Know.

“The true meaning of the word ‘occult’ is in complete contrast to the grossly erroneous conception, reference, inference and direct claim that the word ‘occult’ is in any way associated with evil or witches, warlocks, ‘black magic’ or harm etc. The word ‘occult’ means the culture of God or the way of God. When the true meaning of the word occult is known to many more, and eventually by the majority, it will be found why it is so desirable to have it in its bastardised meaning by those who so desire it to the point of insisting that they are right and that there is no other meaning. For ‘them’, there is much to explain once the true meaning is more widely known … a meaning that unites all by one common truth.” Serge Benhayon, Esoteric Teachings & Revelations

I do hope that the information I have chosen to share in this article, is as much help to you as it was to me, and inspires you to start your own journey of truth.

Time To Exit The Matrix

In order to understand how and why humanity is on track to inherit the earth after a rollercoaster ride through the centuries, it’s important to be aware of other ‘control elements’ that have kept us trapped in a literal matrix. In recent decades, the mass media has played an increasingly powerful role in shaping the world’s ‘narrative’ because of the gradual takeover by rigid, agenda-driven mega-corporations and oligarchs who lack imagination and heart. It has saddened me to see the industry I once worked in, fall into line with globalist agendas which are detrimental to humankind. Particularly post 2020. It also gives the globalists an unfair advantage in their doomed quest to enslave humankind, or in their words, ‘the useless class’.

Other forms of daily mind control tactics include television alpha waves that hypnotize the masses into a receptive, passive state, satanic influences in music and the soul-selling, mind controlled, subservient celebrity world; violent video games that normalize violent behaviour and other convenient ‘smart’ devices such as Siri, Echo and others that feed data into the unseen AI systems.

Widespread Covert Use of Mind Control Technologies

Hand in hand with mass media programming is the covert, long-term use of mass mind control technologies, particularly in Australia, United States of America and United Kingdom. I had heard of mind control experiments over the years but not the rampant use of these nefarious technologies on civilians, from troublesome, annoying critical thinkers, to entire populations.

My most valuable sources of information have come from mind control/torture survivors-turned truthtellers, man of whom are now courageously sharing their gruelling and frequently shocking experiences in the public domain. Of particular note is Australian Tavistock Institute survivor Aishe Spark, who began to break free from her programming and ‘come back to life’ at age 66. I consider her first-hand information to be vital knowledge for not just Australians, but the world.

Tavistock Institute aka Military Industrial Complex

The Rockefeller funded Tavistock Institute was established in 1921 by the Royal Institute for International Affairs (RIIA). It’s strategic mission is to replace a civilization of self-ruling, industrial nation-states with a “post-industrial,” globalized control. Tavistock specializes in “brainwashing” by means of stress-induced fear to artificially create neurotic states of mind, which may be programmed as desired. It has grown into one of the world’s largest, most influential and occultic think tanks on earth, with an ultimate goal of manipulating the world’s population into accepting a one world collectivist state. I call it hardline communism but key organizations such as the World Economic Forum and United Nations prefer to describe their warped vision for the world as ‘stakeholder capitalism.’ Some authors have suggested that Tavistock also invented and disseminated the ‘conspiracy theory’ label as a cover to hide behind while they committed their long list of crimes against humanity.

Disturbing Tavistock Truths

In a conversation with Truth Justice Freedom for Children advocate Gabbi Choong, Aishe Spark revealed many disturbing truths. I learned that Australia is the headquarters of all Rockefeller funded Tavistock institutes which currently control everything. The occultic Illuminati’s New World Order headquarters is located in Australia’s capital city of Canberra. Their plan includes the complete takeover of Australia and its lucrative natural resources, plus full control of this great southern land’s energetic ley lines, grids and sacred sites where they have built Freemason buildings, obelisks and carried out massacres. The whole of Australia is a big cult, a big experiment, with millions of Australians being covertly programmed. This includes mind controlled politicians who are told what to say. Equally concerning is that police have a new communication system and are all “super controlled” to a new frequency, and Australia has about 7 laboratories doing horrific things including DNA experiments. The list goes on. Everything is masterminded by Tavistock – almost like the brain machine. Now I understand why the infamous land down under feels like a subservient, inverted straitjacket.

But our courageous Tavistock survivor and truthteller Aishe also has good news to share. “The answers to everything will come from Australia. They have kept it so secret for so long but now the truth is coming out.”

Indeed it is.

Mind Control Technologies A Covert Craze?

Image: Canva

While there is no shortage of mind control weaponry to write about, I have chosen to include a brief summary of the ‘popular mind manipulation’ microwave technology weapons. Britain was the first to discover this technology in the 1940s and initially used it for radar. Microwave technology’s popularity is largely due to the fact that it is impossible to detect unless you have a detector and better still, the covert use of this weaponry is totally deniable.

Scientist Tim Rifat states that research into the use of microwave weapons for mind control began in 1950s at the UK Tavistock Institute, an influential psychiatric research establishment that explored ways of mind controlling the British population without them knowing. The monkey submission response enabled British scientists to discover a specific brain rhythm for docile, submissive, zombie-like behaviour which was recorded and used as the template for the ELF (extremely low frequency) signal beamed on UK microwave transmitters.

ELF signals mimic natural brain waves and at the flick of a switch, people in the near vicinity of these transmitters can be tuned into submission.

Says Rifat: “Discrediting well known people who are causing problems for the shadowy elite, by driving them mad, seems to be standard operating procedure for the intelligence community. Victims are subject to pulse modulated microwaves which carry different types of madness and behavioral aberrations, encoded as ELF excitation potentials. This makes a troublesome high profile person display manic or insane behavior that discredits them. Examples of this technique are allegedly David Icke, Fergie and Princess Diana.”

Occultic Studies A Hit With Tavistock and CIA

Both the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), created on September 18, 1947 when 33rd US President Harry S Truman signed the National Security Act, and the Tavistock Institute, studied every aspect of the occult. In 1956, the CIA set up the Scientific Engineering Institute (SEI) to study radar and conduct mind control experiments. The illegal MK-ULTRA mind control program operated from the 1950s until the early ’60s, and was created and run by a chemist named Sidney Gottlieb. (Some circles are of the view that MK-ULTRA experiments continue to this day under a new name.)

“Certainly, one of the most nefarious of the MK-ULTRA projects was the “depatterning” research conducted by Scottish-born psychiatrist Dr. D. Ewen Cameron. Cameron was not hidden away in a dark closet: he was one of the most esteemed psychiatrists of his time. He headed both the American Psychiatric Association and the World Psychiatry Association. (Counterpunch)

Dr. Stephen Aldritch, an MK ULTRA programmer who focused on remote brain manipulation & the occult, replaced Sidney Gottlieb in 1962. According to Dr Eric T Karlstrom, Aldridge inaugurated Operation OFTEN which investigated the occult, including the supernatural, demonology and black magic. Agents scoured the country in search of fortune-tellers, palm readers, psychics and clairvoyants. Dubbed the “Department of the Unorthodox”, they introduced themselves as researchers from the Scientific Engineering Institute (SEI). In 1972, the SEI is believed to have sponsored a course at The University of South Carolina in rituals in Demonology and Voodoo, and others, no doubt.

Our energy and spiritual expansion disable their tech. When we connect with each other and the earth, heal ourselves and live in alignment with all around us, our natural energy will ALWAYS be greater than anything manufactured or ‘man’made. Together all over the world, collective human consciousness is expanding, like a wave we rise. Gabbi Choong, Truth, Justice, Freedom for Children

Aiming For Mind Control Of The Entire Planet

Image: Canva

The notorious Project MONARCH is alleged to have been started by the U.S. Army in the early 1960’s and is still classified as TOP SECRET for national security reasons. Survivors of this disturbing program, which involves trauma-structured dissociation and occultic integration, are also beginning to speak publicly about their horrendous experiences that still adversely impact their daily lives.

And it’s only a matter of time before we begin to hear first hand accounts of how the modern day weaponization of space is actually a cover for the mass mind control. Another nefarious program being quietly hatched by the Tavistock military complex in collaboration with certain demonic bloodline families who wish to gain full control of every individual on the planet. Who would have known that mind control was so addictive? It’s a story in itself.

“You see, evil always contains the seeds of its own destruction. It is ultimately negative, and therefore encompasses its downfall even at its moments of apparent triumph. No matter how grandiose, how well-planned, how apparently foolproof of an evil plan, the inherent sinfulness will by definition rebound upon its instigators. No matter how apparently successful it may seem upon the way, at the end it will wreck itself. It will founder upon the rocks of iniquity and sink headfirst to vanish without trace into the seas of oblivion.” ~ Neil Gaiman, Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch

We Have Everything To Gain

These days, I see the world as a giant Phonyland; an illusory, rigged and deeply flawed system that unlawfully converted me into incorporated Vatican property through my non-consensual, publicly registered Birth Certificate. The ‘free-world’ is not free at all. I am merely the ‘chattel’ of a constipated administrative body called government meaning ‘mind control’, where masonic ‘men on high’ behave like masters who grant the unwitting slaves (you and me), our freedoms and privileges. And they expect gratitude in return for something that was never theirs to begin with.

But fear not – we have everything to gain by building our knowledge and awareness of how mismanaged and broken the upper echelons really are. We have the opportunity to break free from this matrix and embrace our powerful divinity to co-create a flourishing, healthy and prosperous world for our precious children, families and future generations.

Billions of People are Unwitting Heirs and Heiresses

On the bliss side, however, I have also uncovered that I am an unwitting heiress to an abundant Sovereign Estate that had been unlawfully hidden from me for my entire life. As you will learn in great detail, everyone in possession of a Birth Certificate is an heir or heiress to a Sovereign Estate that has been hidden from them by the government, Crown and Vatican ‘parent’ corporations that have been cashing in on we, the meek, for hundreds of years. They literally cash in when we are born and cash in when we die.

Etymology of Democracy and Oligarchy

The world is currently run by a small group of deceptive, selfish oligarchs. I have taken the liberty of including a brief etymology lesson here, as it concerns me to know that the powerful few consider themselves to be sovereign, and the masses their slaves. The Online Etymology Dictionary states that the following definition of an oligarchy necessarily implies that the majority are excluded from participating in the sovereign power:

Oligarch: “one of a few holding political power, member of an oligarchy,” c. 1600, from French olygarche, oligarque, from Latinized form of Greek oligarkhēs, which is related to oligarkhia “government by the few”

Oligarchy: (adj) “pertaining to or of the nature of government by a few,” 1640s, from Greek oligarkhikos “pertaining to oligarchy,” from oligarkhos, related to oligarkhia “government by the few”

Oligarchy: (n) “form of government in which supreme power is vested in a small exclusive class,” 1570s, from French oligarchie (14c.), from Latinized form of Greek oligarkhia “government by the few,” from stem of oligos “few, small, little” (a word of uncertain origin) + -arkhia, from arkhein “to rule” (see archon). An earlier form of the word in English was oligracie (c. 1500, from Old French).

Democracy: “government by the people, system of government in which the sovereign power is vested in the people as a whole exercising power directly or by elected officials; a state so governed,” 1570s, from French démocratie (14c.), from Medieval Latin democratia (13c.), from Greek dēmokratia “popular government,” from dēmos “common people,” originally “district” (see demotic), + kratos “rule, strength” (see -cracy).

Sometimes 16c.-17c. in Latinized form democratie. In 19c. England it could refer to “the class of people which has no hereditary or other rank, the common people.” In 19c. U.S. politics it could mean “principles or members of the Democratic Party.”

Democracy implies that the man must take the responsibility for choosing his rulers and representatives, and for the maintenance of his own ‘rights’ against the possible and probable encroachments of the government which he has sanctioned to act for him in public matters. [Ezra Pound, “ABC of Economics,” 1933]

Aristotle defines a democracy to be, when the freemen and those not the rich, being the majority, possess the sovereign power; and an oligarchy, when the rich and those of noble birth, being few, are in possession of the sovereign power.

The Great Reveal Has Arrived

It takes time to come to terms with the stark reality that your whole life has been a colossal, programmed con, but I highly recommend that you choose to persist and ride this mystifying new wave until you reach the glistening new shore. When I arrived at my glistening new shore and observed the transformed world before me, I was also reminded of Gloria Steinem’s famous words: “The truth will set you free but at first it will piss you off.” After two and a half years of navigating my way through the information quagmire and connecting with a worldwide, likeminded, ‘Do No Harm’ crew, I can confidently announce the following: Move over Great Reset. The Great Reveal has arrived.

An Alternative Take on The Wizard of Oz

Image: Canva

For readers who prefer to cut to the chase, the cult movie classic The Wizard if Oz is fully loaded with symbology and hidden meanings that provide a succinct snapshot of the mass occultic deception I have chosen to write about in this article – particularly in relation to our real life fictional straw man and legal system. The author of the following (slightly edited) interpretation of The Wizard of Oz is unknown:

The Wizard of Oz = Ounces of Gold.

The Yellow Brick Road = Bricks or Gold Ingot.

The Straw Man represents that fictional ALL CAPS legal fiction — PERSON. The Straw Man wanted a Brain but got a Certificate — the Birth Certificate for a new legal creation & he was proud of his new legal status, plus all these other legalisms he was granted.

The Tin Man — (TIN) Taxpayer Identification Number, a robotic avatar, who worked tirelessly until his body literally froze up & stopped functioning. The heartless & emotionless robot creature who worked himself to death because he had no heart or soul. He wanted a HEART.

The Cowardly Lion was a bully, but was a true coward when someone stood up to him. He lacks true courage. That was what he wanted — Courage. At the end, the Wizard gave him an Official Recognition Award — Authority & Status.

The Wizard of Oz — used magic, smoke, flames & holograms, but all were tricks & illusions to push fear & compliance into doing what he commanded. The TRUTH is the Wizard had NO real power & only used illusions to create FALSE power & authority.

The Wicked Witch — pushed fear through intimidation. She was after Toto. She controlled the flying monkey police — the policy enforcers— the mischievous demons, which also represents the BAR Association attorneys who attack & control all the little people for the Great Crown Wizard, the crooked Bankers of Oz – Gold.

The meaning “a written account of some fact, event, or proceeding for the purpose of preserving the memory of it” is from late 14c., as is the sense of “official document of a government department or municipal office.” Hence the meaning “fact or condition of being preserved as knowledge, especially by being put into writing” (late 14c.).

Toto the Dog — was what the Wicked Witch was after. Toto in Latin means ‘in total, all TOGETHER’. Toto was the One who exposed the Wizard of Oz. Toto had no fear & was very small compared to the Great Wizard so no one noticed him. Toto pulled the curtain on the Wizard & his magical scams. ‘Curtain’ also means the End of an Act or scene — The End. He pulled the curtain & started barking until others paid attention & Red Pilled the others.

The curtain ‘VEIL’ that hides the corporate legal fiction & its false courts, is exposed. The jig is up. No matter how small your bark is — it can be heard.

The Untold Tale Of Our Birth Certificates

Image: Canva

Black’s Law Dictionary defines a Birth Certificate as the certificate that is filed with the right authorities when a child is born that records the date and place of birth and the parents names etc. No mention of the real story of a Birth Certificate which has a much bigger story to tell about the lucrative trust fund that is created in our good name at birth. A sovereign trust fund that the government corporations and their parent corporations, being the Crown and Vatican, ‘forgot’ to tell us about.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

After extensive research about these hidden trust funds, I can confidently state that all holders of Birth Certificates are unwitting heirs and heiresses – the meek who are inheriting the earth – but most don’t know it yet.

This is where we enter the giddy world of legal jargon but I have attempted to make it as clear as possible, which is no mean feat for someone without a legal background. Basic law and inherent rights principles are not taught in primary or secondary schools for good reason – this mass occultic fraud relies heavily on secrecy and ignorance to keep it in place. And ignorance, my friends, is definitely not bliss.

A pound of gold is set aside by the Crown for every pound we weigh at birth. The median value of a 50-year-old in the USA is over a billion dollars. ~ Bibi Bacchus, Educator, Contract Law and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC)

True Purpose of a Birth Certificate

Stand For Truth (UK) sums up the true purpose of a Birth Certificate perfectly: “Parents are not obliged to register their children, but if they do, they create a legal entity/PERSON. They literally hand ownership of that PERSON over to a foreign entity/The CROWN. The Government seizes the PERSON under Maritime Law and it becomes their chattel property. Every Birth Certificate is a financial instrument lodged in the Vatican bank.”

Note: Parents have 7 years to declare their child is alive before the courts take over as administrator.

Protection? Or a Protection Racket?

Aetherical Blogspot provides deeper insights into the language used in this hidden trust racket. Note the difference between legal and lawful: “According to the government’s Registration of Birth form, the mother is identified as the “informant”. Namely, one in the state of “in-forming” or creating a “form of man” in the legal realm… A new legal entity cannot be created unless this form is completed and submitted…That which is legal has been formed by man. That which is lawful is of substance/essence and is a creation of God. A lawful man is of substance/essence.”

Furthermore, when the Birth Certificate is issued to the parent/s, the baby is considered an acting legal entity – a human in the legal system.

Almost everyone’s birth estate has been registered into a sovereign’s register. Surrendering a legal title for an equitable title (beneficiary title) to the estate. All for protection and care. A protection racket.

Getting To Know Our Mysterious Straw Man

A helpful document originating from New Zealand entitled Birth Certificate Odyssey, rightfully states that your birth documentation should be straightforward and transparent, but it soon becomes the most complex and secretive paper trail imaginable. This alone suggests a long history of corruption.

It also defines the meaning of a Birth Certificate in corporate dead speak (corpse oration = dead speak):

“A negotiable instrument, a registered security, a stock certificate evidencing, or representing, the preferred stock of the corporation and against which you are the surety; a pedigree chattel document establishing the existence of our straw man, a distinct artificial person with a fictitious name; a document of title to a straw man; a warehouse receipt for your body; delivery receipt; industrial bond between you (flesh-and-blood man or woman) and the industrial society and corporate Government (artificial person).

In essence, there are two of us in existence in this world. A living, breathing, flesh and blood free spirit and a stock certificate which is unlawfully traded on the stockmarket. Call it witchery or trickery, if you will.

The whole process is so antiquated and fictitious, that those who play a role in the document creation process, do not even comprehend what they mean, and in some cases where they go. And yet the process exists and proceeds as it ever did. If it is true that comprehension is the first step to a solution, then a new era is truly dawning, but this is obvious on the face of it. ~ Crow, Crrow777 Radio

Your Live Birth Record Holds The Sovereign Key

Black’s Law online dictionary defines a Certificate of Live Birth as the first unofficial draft of the fact that your mother gave birth to you, but does not list a definition for a Live Birth Record. Dig a little deeper and you will find that your Live Birth Record ultimately deems you as the Holder of your Sovereign Estate, your hidden trust fund.

Etymology of Certificate, Record, Sovereign

Certificate: Early 15c., “action of certifying,” from French certificat, from Medieval Latin certificatum “thing certified,” noun use of neuter past participle of certificare “to make certain”

Record: c. 1300, “testimony committed to writing, fact or condition of having been recorded,” from Old French record “memory; statement, report,” from recorder “to record” (see record (v.)). Also in part from Medieval Latin noun recordum, recorda. Related: Records.

Sovereign: (n.) late 13c., “superior, ruler, master,” from Old French soverain “sovereign, lord, ruler,” noun use of adjective meaning “highest, supreme, chief” Meaning “gold coin worth 22s 6d” first recorded late 15c.; value changed 1817 to 1 pound. (adj) early 14c., “great, superior, supreme,” from Old French soverain “highest, supreme, chief,” from Vulgar Latin *superanus “chief, principal” (source also of Spanish soberano, Italian soprano), from Latin super “over” (from PIE root *uper “over”). Spelling influenced by folk-etymology association with reign. Milton spelled it sovran, as though from Italian sovrano. Of remedies or medicines, “potent in a high degree,” from late 14c.

Some learned folk insist that we are sauverin or suverin free spirits, rather than sovereign. I’ll take all three, thanks.

How We Became The Living Dead In A Mass Occultic Fraud

The following references are from a compelling video presentation called Occult Art of Law by a spiritually minded UK Psychiatrist, Alan of Salisbury. In fact, it was this presentation that initially sparked my inspiration to delve a little deeper and pen this article.

Alan states in simple terms that when parents complete the birth registration process, they unwittingly confirm our place among the living dead. Our Birth Certificate is used as a security instrument by the government because we have been incorporated by a dead corporation. We unknowingly participate in this mass fraud because our artificial PERSON, or strawman, is a legal fiction with no God given rights or human rights, and identified by our ALL CAPITAL LETTER NAME. This is why government identification, bills, bank accounts and even tombstones of our dead loved ones display names in ALL CAPS.

All capital literature without hyphens is known as debased DOG-LATIN. The online Law Dictionary defines DOG-LATIN as: The Latin of illiterate persons; Latin words put together on the English grammatical system.

Our ALL CAPS NAME can therefore be viewed as our secular personality for the secular world. Secularize: to make secular; separate from religious or spiritual connection or influences; make worldly or unspiritual; imbue with secularism. ~Random House Unabridged 2nd Ed.

The separation of church and state resulted in two jurisdictions which are demonstrated in the below graphic.

“They Are Off The Dial, These Guys”

Alan’s Occult Art of Law presentation sums up this mass occultic deception perfectly:

“We have a (trust) account that we know nothing about; a bond created at birth for the benefit of another. The complete opposite of what our divine creator God intended; to be born into this world so the meek shall inherit the earth and all the abundance on offer.

In the real world, you are alive and kicking – flesh and blood – but this occult system doesn’t see it that way. They are off the dial, these guys, and when we begin to see that this is what is really going on, honesty and open mindedness win. Do the research.

They know that if they can control your mind, then your body will follow. They will use all manner of things such as Tavistock Institute mind manipulation. To them, there is only the religion of money and they want you to believe in that. You are handing over your will and your life to the God of Money.

Money itself is not the evil, it’s the control behind it that is.”

Why The Divine Supersedes Man Made

Mind manipulation technologies and the technocratic, transhumanistic AI agenda are being thrust upon us like never before but we, the meek, ultimately have the upper hand. This is because we have divine law and divine intelligence on our side. The AI technocracy does not.

Divine (adj.) late 14c., “pertaining to, of the nature of, or proceeding from God or a god; addressed to God,” from Old French divin, devin (12c.), from Latin divinus “of a god,” from divus “of or belonging to a god, inspired, prophetic,” related to deus “god, deity” (from PIE root *dyeu- “to shine,” in derivatives “sky, heaven, god”). ~Online Etymology Dictionary

Divine law in three simple words: Do No Harm.

Natural Law Vs Man Made Law

With regard to why the divine laws of creation and divine intelligence are far more superior than the millions of man made laws and various technologies attempting to enslave us all, I couldn’t have said this better than US artist and author, Annie Horkan:

“Man’s laws are inferior to the supreme (divine) laws of creation unless man made laws are created in harmonious alignment with the truth and knowledge of natural, universal and spiritual laws. Mankind must begin to discern the difference between natural law and man made law if we are going to restore and preserve our divine evolutionary path.

Man’s dogmatic beliefs are rooted in mental constructs that disregard the integrity of emotional, physical and spiritual components. How do we comply with man made laws that do not consider the totality of the whole person? The laws of man confine us to an ultimatum for which our failure to comply becomes our fear of punishment.

Natural laws define universal truth that transcends all race, color and creed while man’s laws attempt to restrict the right to sovereign freedom based upon one’s race, color and creed. If all men are created equal, then the creation of man made laws to suit the bias of locales or conditions is a violation of natural law.”

Principles of Eternal Moral Law

Annie Horkan also reminds us that we are standing at the Fourth Turning crossroad whereby our choice to refine and utilize our divine intelligence is critical to prevent a full blown AI takeover. “AI is no match for the divine. Its powers are solely limited to substitution and imitation, and it can never create, only mimic. These mimicries can be quite spectacular, their imitations very convincing and their substitutions extremely deceptive.”

Given that the history of the Vatican parent corporation is also central to this article, this is an opportune time to reflect upon an overview of the Catholic definition of divine law, which is not being acknowledged by the current Jesuit hierarchy that shamelessly align with Satan/Lucifer/Baphomet/Moloch and other lower realm entities:

Divine Law: The eternal law of God, or the divine reason as governing the whole universe. God conceived as the Ruler of the Universe. The plan of government that he has in his mind bears the character of law, and because it is conceived in eternity and not in time, it is said to be the eternal law. This eternal law embraces both the physical and moral laws.

The eternal moral law has been manifested to the human race in two ways, naturally and supernaturally. In the first case, human beings come to know the eternal law from created nature through the light of native reason; this is natural law in the full scope of its meaning. In the second case, human beings come to know the eternal law from divine revelation to which they can respond with the help of God’s grace.~ Catholic Culture

Our job is to learn how to stand on the law of the land as men and women, not dead legal fictions lost at sea. Knowledge is power. Knowledge of the law for mankind sets us free. ~Jesse Perez Casanova, Earth United Global

The Estimated Value Of Our Birthright

Alan also reminds us that the occultic legal system only controls the ‘persona’, not the living, breathing flesh and blood man or woman. He estimates that we are all an “asset” worth around 2 million pounds each, and that our birthright is about the same size as 4 rugby fields. In a conversation with New Earth University co-founder Sacha Stone, UCC and Contract Law educator Bibi Bacchus states that the median value of a 50-year-old in the US is over a billion dollars and a pound of gold is set aside by the Crown for every pound we weigh at birth.

“When a prime minister says they are going to the common market, where do you think they are getting the money? Not from your wages that you pay taxes on. That’s a different set of money. They get it from your trust fund; from your birth certificate. That’s where they get the money to build the roads and do everything you could think of.” ~Bibi Bacchus, Educator, UCC and Contract Law

Governments Playing Hide & Seek With Our Trust Accounts

*Some circles are of the opinion that Nesara Gesara quantum financial system is a psyop (psychological operation) and that the ascended master that started it all, St Germain, was a freemason. I am including this information regardless, in the hope there there is high level decency on the planet – somewhere.

Sovereign estate educators such as David Straight, confirm that at least half the money in the Cestui Que Vie Trust account that we know nothing about, is technically ours. We are supposed to be the co-trustee and co-beneficiary, and control it with a business plan and our signatures. We are the signatories and are meant to be in a co-partnership with our government but instead, our trust has been hidden from us by our government. Everyone who was registered as a legal fiction at birth, has a trust with their name on it.

David Straight: “Governments are the trustees of the people, who are the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries have a trust indenture (legal and binding contract) with millions of dollars in it that they are co-trustees of. There is supposed to be a co-partnership with government. The government puts up the initial investment, bonds it, insures it, manages the securities and does a good job on their side. But they hid it from us. We are the signatories but most people don’t yet understand their trusts. That’s why we have NESARA/GESARA.”

NESARA: National Economic Security and Reformation Act

GESARA: Global Economic Security and Reform Act

All countries have a Cestui Que Vie Trust and NESARA/GESARA essentially allow us to be the co-trustees, co-beneficiaries and the only signatory officers of our trust.

How Do We Claim Our God Given Sovereign Estate?

From what I have learned thus far, claiming our God-given sovereign estates is a convoluted, complex and time consuming process. Prepare yourself for the slew of debunkers and burgeoning ‘sovereign estate industry’ where various prices are being attached to varying versions of how to claim your hefty ‘inheritance’. Some circles recommend that we reclaim our trust account from the United Nations and Vatican by formally declaring that they no longer have control over us, our estate or our property. This option resonates with me the most because of the fact that we are operating within a massive legal fiction and dealing with deceptive corporations posing as governments that have no jurisdiction over we, the meek, who are inheriting the earth.

Perhaps a friendly, handwritten letter addressed to the (outgoing) Jesuit (Society of Jesus) Pope Francis (born Jorge Mario Bergoglio) and current President of the United Nations General Assembly, Abdulla Shahid, is a good place to start. As inherent, sovereign souls, we are simply requesting our rightful share of the loot. A relatively simple task when you consider the unnecessary legal gobbledygook that needs to be removed from this deliberately complex equation.

In the Occultic Corporate Beginning…

Vatican Pigna (Pinecone). Represents the crystalline pineal gland in the centre of our brains which allows us access to Source. Image: Canva

When, where and how did this mass occultic fraud begin? Let’s travel back to 751 AD. Citizen historian Paul Larsen, who consults with a broad range of concerned Vatican insiders and other well placed sources, states that in 751 AD, the Merovingian dynasty was deposed and the bloodline families who owned the Vatican, allegedly created “The Donation of Constantine”. This forged document purported to be from Emperor Constantine 400 years before and gave the title of Roman Emperor to the Pope. The Vatican allegedly awarded itself the authority to select every monarch in Europe from then onward, regardless of bloodline. Meaning virtually all European nobility since then, have been illegitimate. But they have desperately tried to legitimize their rule by marrying Merovingian princesses. Another story in itself for another time, perhaps.

Occultic Fraud Is No Bull

The following information provides a brief overview of the greedy, grass roots foundations of the Vatican’s Birth Certificate fraud, including specific papal bulls (official letters or papal documents), 3 Crowns and the creation of the Cestui Que Vie (CQV) Act. The debunknet (formerly known as the internet) is laden with blogsites reposting the same or similar information but if you are interested in learning more about the current, uncensored state of play in the Vatican, you can’t go wrong with ex Illuminati/Freemason Leo Zagami’s book, Pope Francis: The Last Pope?: Money, Masons and Occultism in the Decline of the Catholic Church.

The Infamous Papal Bull “Unam Sanctam”

1302, Pope Boniface VIII created the first and largest Express Trust in world history. He not only crowned himself as King of the World, declaring control over the entire planet and everyone on it but also appointed himself as “Christ’s Trustee”.

Upon issuing his papal bull Unam Sanctam (One Holy), and declaring a Claim of Right, the Vatican owners proceeded to take control over land, rights and titles across Europe. To this day, the 1302 Unam Sanctam remains the primary papal document that underpins the Vatican corporation’s claim to global power.

In his Bull of 1302, Unam Sanctam, Boniface VIII proclaimed that “it is necessary for salvation that every living creature be under submission to the Roman pontiff,” pushing papal supremacy to its historical extreme. The Pope…wields two swords, one spiritual, one secular and does so in God’s name*. The secular power is exercised by the civil authorities but under the guidance of the Church. Anyone who does not recognize the authority of both swords stands eternally damned.” ~ New World Encyclopedia

* My ongoing research has uncovered Satan’s name instead of God’s name.

A System Built Upon Deprivation

The creation of a trio of Crowns condemned us to perpetual slavery without legal title over our own soul. We were deprived of all beneficial entitlements, rights on the land and ownership of our flesh. We were also denied legal standing, instead treated as things; cargo without souls upon which the BAR is legally able to enforce Maritime law.

1st Crown of Crown Land (Earth)

1455, Pope Nicholas V created the first Testamentary Trust with the papal bull Romanus Pontifex. This deed and will created a Deceased Estate. In conjunction with the Express Trust Unam Sanctam, it effectively allowed all land to be claimed as ‘crown land’ controlled by the Pope and his successors in perpetuity.

2nd Crown of the Commonwealth (Body)

1481, Pope Sixtus IV created the second Testamentary Trust with the papal bull Aeterni Regis (Eternal Crown). Initially named the “Crown of Aragon”, it was later known as the Crown of Spain, the highest sovereign and highest steward of all Roman slaves subject to the rule of the Roman Pontiff.

3rd Crown of the Ecclesiastical See (Soul)

1537, Pope Paul III created the 3rd Crown and final Testamentary Trust through the papal bull Convocation. This was set up to claim all the lost souls, lost to the sea (See). Bar Associations are responsible for administering the “reaping” of the souls of the lost and damned, including the registration and collection of Baptismal certificates representing the souls collected by the Vatican and stored in its vaults.

Creation of the Cestui Que Vie Trust

1540, Henry VIII of England created the Cestui Que Vie (CQV) Act which was updated by Charles II through the CQV Act of 1666, wherein an Estate may be effected for the Benefit of a Person presumed lost or abandoned at “sea” and therefore assumed “dead” after seven (7) years. A CQV Trust is a Temporary Testamentary Trust; a fictional concept.

According to investigator, author and 2016 Prague Peace Prize recipient Ole Dammegard, each Cestui Que Vie Trust created since 1933, represents one of the 3 Crowns representing the three aforementioned claims of property. In turn, each corresponds exactly to the three forms of law available to the Galla of the BAR Courts: corporate commercial law (judge is the ‘landlord’), maritime and canon law (judge is the banker), and Talmudic law (judge is the priest).

This concludes the overview of the historical foundation of the Birth Certificate fraud but I do encourage you to do some research as there is such a wealth of empowering knowledge to uncover and enjoy.

Now it’s time to move on to the God of Money.

They Want You To Worship The God Of Money

According to the Occult Art of Law presentation, the self appointed ruling class believe there is only one religion – the religion of money – and they want you to believe in that. They want you to hand over your money to the God of Money.

Bankers – The High Priests of Ba’al

Alan compares bankers to the high priests of Ba’al (Canaanite god) who only care about what your sweat equity is worth; how much are you worth as a slave. Going to work every day is paying homage to their God. Literally ‘slaving away’ to pay neverending bills and other expenses.

Says Alan: “When you want to buy a house, they get you to sign a promissory note and put it into an account. Then, out of thin air, they create a million pounds. You’ve gone into the bank as a sovereign, living, creative soul, with flesh, blood and an inheritance. Your signature has created one million pounds and they now have an undertaking from you to work for the rest of your life to create another million pounds. And they are going to charge you interest on that as well.”

Does this sound fraudulent to you? It certainly does to me.

Why A Bank Ripped Up A $2M Mortgage

I am reminded of an insightful interview on exiled Australian Max Igan’s Crowhouse channel. He interviewed constitutional law educator and advocate Derek Balogh about a Queensland family who were at risk of losing their property to the Commonwealth Bank. The family wrote to the bank with 3 promissory notes for $4.3 million to clear the debt. In the Supreme Court of Queensland, they said, ‘We’ll give you the keys to the property but you are going to give us back our property rights and our legal property, the 3 promissory notes.”

The Commonwealth Bank couldn’t find the promissory notes because they were traded. In the meantime, the family filed a qui tam* action against the Commonwealth Bank with the International Criminal Court (ICC) – the only valid court in the world because it is not under the Federal Reserve Bank and has nothing to do with the banking system. (*A qui tam is a writ through which private individuals who assist a prosecution, can receive all or part of the damages or financial penalties recovered by the government as a result of the prosecution.)

16 March 2020, a meeting took place on Queensland’s Gold Coast between a witnessing judge, the family, the Commonwealth Bank CEO and board members. After the meeting, they ripped up the $2 million mortgage and gave back the property title in lieu of paying US$25 million to the ICC as a penalty for perjury.

According to Derek Balogh, the International Criminal Court is the only remedy we have because the banks don’t have property titles or mortgages. We are paying rent to the US landlords – the bond holders who buy shares in those trusts.

Money Is The Hardest Addiction There Is

Alan reminds us that going to work every day is giving the most valuable thing we have got. Our time. Our life. But that’s us paying homage to their god. Physically, in our reality, we are in bondage. If we stop working, we don’t have money or freedom, which also reflects part of the Satanic construct we have been born into.

Money is therefore the most powerful mood and mind altering substance of them all. The hardest addiction there is. We have been caught in a deceptive occultic fiction and must get back to who we truly are and what we were created to do. When we are true to ourselves, a pathway opens up to enable us to connect to the universe, reclaim our soul, our sense of value, our sense of worth. The guys that created this spell know how the universe works and they have a way of doing dark magic that keeps us in the dark. Time to break the spell.

The Biggest Banking Scam of All Time Explained In 7 Minutes: How the Federal Reserve is neither Federal nor a Reserve.

Blueprint for Human Prosperity

On the flipside, if you are interested in learning about a blueprint for human prosperity, as opposed to the Illuminati’s The Secret Covenant blueprint for poverty, consider reading Michael Tellinger’s latest book Ubuntu ContributionismExposing the Global Banking Fraud. He retraces the path that brought us here as a species, uncovers lies and deception of unimaginable proportion, and continuous manipulation of the human race for thousands of years – all controlled by money.

He also exposes the previously misunderstood origins of money and the rise of the royal banking elite that have controlled the world for millennia and continue to do so today through the modern banking families. Tellinger makes a strong case that if we do not understand our human origins, we cannot come to terms with why the world is so messed up in the 21st century. He demonstrates that our current situation presents us with a unique opportunity to change the course of our destiny – the opportunity for we, the meek, to inherit the earth.

Occultic Aspects of The Legal System

Image: Canva

All countries have been infiltrated by the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT); an independent intergovernmental organisation based in Rome. The website states: Its purpose is to study needs and methods for modernising, harmonising and co-ordinating private and in particular commercial law as between States and groups of States and to formulate uniform law instruments, principles and rules to achieve those objectives. (A longform definition of modern day slavery).

A Most Pernicious Crime

Solutions Empowerment points out that a corporate UNIDROIT banker/quasi government defines their documented slaves/voters as illiterate PERSONS and addresses them in debased DOG-LATIN.

Deceitfully governing Legal PERSONS through the use of debased DOG-LATIN is a pernicious crime, legally defined as “Trafficking in PERSONS”. Three Palermo protocols that were adopted by the United Nations to supplement the 2000 Palermo Convention against Transnational Organized Crime include the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially Women and Children.

To recap: Under natural law, all men and women are equal before the law, while all named PERSONS are not legally equal. A PERSON in LAW is nothing more than a ‘thing’. They are part of a hierarchical system of inequality – a subjugation.

The 1893 Dictionary of Arts and Sciences, Encyclopedia Britannica, a Dictionary of Arts, Sciences, And General Literature/The R.S Peale 9th 1893 defines the word “legal” in 5 words: “The undoing of God’s Law.”

Was The Roman Slave A Thing Or A Person?

One of the most offensive truths that presented itself to me in 2020, was that I was an incorporated Roman slave. In 2022, I discovered that I am also perceived as a ‘thing’. The below excerpt was mysteriously removed from a doctored Australian Law PDF copy of The Elements of Roman Law but we are most fortunate that Australian author Larry Hannigan possesses an original copy where it lawfully remains in black and white for all the world to see:

Deleted excerpt from Larry Hannigan’s original publication of The Elements of Roman Law PDF

It was also interesting to note the vast increase in the slave population when Rome began to extend its conquests outside Italy and engage in distant wars. This extract about the Rights of Masters Over Slaves highlights the Law of Persons and also confirms how Roman Empire slave masters excel at creating something out of nothing, including money, both historically and to this very day. (Note the use of debased DOG-LATIN, a pernicious crime.)

Excerpt from Larry Hannigan’s original publication of The Elements of Roman Law PDF

In The Judge We Trust?

Law educator Bibi Bacchus was sentenced to 8 years in prison for a manufactured crime by corrupt authorities to entrap her. During her unlawful incarceration, she studied the highest expression of international law, being Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and Contract Law. 7 years, 2 months later, she emerged with glistening knowledge about how the rigged system commits fraud and treason against 7.7 billion souls on earth every day.

During a compelling debut discussion with New Earth University founder Sacha Stone, Bibi revealed many explosive pearls such as this: “At the moment we don’t have a court of law. We have a color of law, which is fiction. UCC is a set of codes that was set up over 100 years ago by lawyers and with the UCC, comes Contract Law. It is all to do with contract so we are not under any law. We are just under contract. The UCC is very important for people to learn about.”

We Get To Choose If We Want To Contract With Government Corporations

Refreshingly feisty South Australian law educator Tim Dwyer, mirrors the vital work of Bibi Bacchus. He rightfully states that the Australian government is a corporation which has no authority apart from that which you think it has. We are under Contract Law and cannot be forced into contract nor servitude. Unbeknownst to the majority of the Australian population, we get to choose if we want to contract with them. Australian Consumer Law (ACL) is the law of the Commonwealth and in ACL, everything is contract. When you deal with the Commonwealth, every aspect of your interaction, as per any other corporation, is a contract.

Says Tim: “Governments and Councils are just companies and everything you do must be contracted. But you get to choose if you want to contract with them. Why do you want to buy a license to drive a motor car? Why do you want to pay rates? Why do you want to enter into all these contracts? When they send you a fine in the mail, they are offering to contract with you. If you choose not to contract, you cannot be forced into a contract.”

Legal High Sorcery and Trickery

Prague Peace Prize Recipient Ole Dammegard also compliments the work of Bibi Bacchus and Tim Dwyer by posing a vital question:

Q. If the Roman Legal System assumes we are merely the beneficiary of these CQV Trusts, when we go to court, who represents the Trustee and Office of Executor?

A. The judge is the trust; the real and legal name that operates under the principles of Trust Law, created by the Roman cult. The judge does what any Trustee or Executor, administering a trust in the presence of the beneficiary, can do under Roman Law and all the statutes, maxims, and procedures.

Says Ole: “We are the mirror image to them; the ghost; the spirit; the dead. This high sorcery and trickery has remained “legal” for far too long. The whole system is a fraud. Where did you ever agree to be part of it and were you ever told what was going on? Fraud invalidates all contracts, agreements and even treaties.”

We are Summoned to Court Like Ghosts or Spirits

Image: Canva

Alan also highlights the occultic fact that when we are ‘summoned’ to appear in a court, we are actually being invited to a dark ritual. We are summoned like a spirit because we didn’t collect our trust account within the first 7 years of life and are presumed dead. If there is any liability, they have to summon us because, that’s what we are to the fictional legal system – a spirit; a ghost, just as Ole stated. The legal profession predominantly dresses in black, the traditional colour of mourning, and uses terminology that is also part of the occult art of law. Historically, lawyers have worn black to show their submission to justice. If there ever was such a thing as justice. Some circles suggest that the odds of winning a court case these days are on par with a casino.

Bottom line: the law is derived from two authorities – God and the consent of the people – we, the meek, who are inheriting the earth.

God made us the Trustee and we have the consent of the people because nobody is arguing with us. Therefore, what we say, goes. And if they don’t, we can use force to stop them. ~Alan of Salisbury, Occult Art of Law

The Occult Art of Law presentation also delves into how we are unwittingly fleeced whenever we pay “coin to Caesar” i.e. taxes, registration fees, fines and bills. For example, when you receive a bill, it belongs to your straw man. When your appear in court, you represent your straw man. As previously explained, our straw man or legal personality is akin to a piece of paper created from our Birth Certificate.

In reality, we are a living, breathing, man or woman aligned with Divine Law.

Constitutions Are Actually Legalities To Be Argued

Post 2020 also birthed loud cries about blatant breaches of the constitution by rogue government corporations and their (dark) Illuminati/Freemason/Jesuit controllers. We have all been led to believe that our country’s constitution was written by governing ‘men on high’ to protect ‘we, the people’ but educators such as Quantum of Conscience host Matt McKinley, have proven the opposite to be true.

The constitution took away our inherent, God-given freedom and rights we were born with, and turned them into a legality which must then be argued. This placed our inherent freedoms and rights into the hands of the courts that tell you that you are innocent until proven guilty. But this is not the case. You have to argue and defend your position. Is that liberty and freedom?

McKinley also asserts that America’s ‘awe inspiring system’ of liberty and freedom – a model for the world – allowed millions of pages of laws, ordinance, codes, statutes, bylaws, edicts, decrees, executive orders – tens of millions of pages, if you include administrative/executive bodies that have their own sub-sets of laws and other rules.

I agree with McKinley. Every bit of the system is unconstitutional and the whole concept of freedom and liberty has been warped from the start. Even the Magna Carta is perceived as little more than an ‘appeasement.’

Our inherent, God-given rights supersede the Magna Carta, the Constitution and the mass legal fiction that is on its satanic way out. Case closed.

Mind Your Legalese

Legalese sounds like English but it isn’t. It is a technical form of writing used by the legal community to discuss the business of law. While it seems like government officials, court clerks and the police are speaking English to you, they aren’t. They are speaking legalese designed to make you agree to legal and written contracts without you realizing it.

For example, if a police officer asks you, “Do you understand?”, they really mean “stand under authority”. By answering, you create a verbal contract with them.

Rule Of Law – Appearances Can Be Deceiving

Legalese reflects, in part, how the legal system is a secular system which does not relate to the spiritual nature of man. It only concerns itself with the body of man. The Aetherical Blogspot author provides a definition from Webster’s Dictionary 1828:

“Secular pertains to the present world, or to things not spiritual or holy; relating to things not immediately or primarily respecting the soul, but the body. Secular power is therefore a political power that is exercised through the civil law or legal system. Its concern is with worldly matters and the body of man but not the soul/spirit. This is the Rule of Law. In contrast, there is a spiritual power that is exercised through the Law of God. Its concern is with spiritual matters and the spirit.”

This is not to say that all legal professionals are secular but they work in a secular legal system built on a fictional foundation. This everchanging world will eventually require them to retrain so they are able to operate in a lawful system aligned with natural law which aligns with divine and eternal law.

As author Raymond Bradley writes in The Relation Between Natural Law and Human Law in Thomas Aquinas: A return to a closer harmony between the law and morality… is a pressing need for our legal system if it is to survive and fulfill its divinely appointed function in our governmental system.

The more I learn about the difference between lawful and legal, the more I am able to correctly interpret the language used on most government websites which is written in a way that only appears to protect and respect we, the meek. No different to the constitutions by the ‘men on high.’ For example, the Australian Attorney-General’s Department website states that our great southern land of Australia is founded on the rule of law and has a strong tradition of respect for the rights and freedoms of every individual.

Just an observation.

Legalese Definitions

The following legalese definitions are sourced from Occult Art of Law, Aetherical Blogspot, Solutions Empowerment and Know Your Rights. I hope you find them as useful I do:

Register/Registration: When you register something, you hand over the title to whoever you register it with. So, when you register something with the government, they assume it is theirs. When you register your car, you become the registered keeper of your vehicle and the government can crush it if you don’t pay your straw man tax on it. When you register your baby, you create their straw man and it starts all over again. Your child begins to generate revenue for the government from 7 years of age, just as you have.

Application: You are a beggar and it is presumed that you know what you are giving up in order to get what you are begging for.

Submit: To bend to another’s will. Therefore, when you submit an application to register something, you voluntarily give up your rights. This aligns with the system’s laws against slavery but not voluntary slavery.

Citizen: Member of a free city or jural society, (civitas.) possessing all the rights and privileges which can be enjoyed by any person under its constitution and government, and subject to the corresponding duties. A Roman cult runs this system.

Government: ‘Mind control’: guvernare meaning “to control” and (mens or mentis) meaning “mind”; a service corporation that that does not have power and jurisdiction over the people. Instead, it covertly commits constructive fraud against the people.

Birth/Berth Certificate: Title to your soul and proof of ownership by the Holy See. The Claim of Right and the first Express Trust named Unam Sanctam; the core of the Holy See’s ownership of your soul. Essentially an unlawful slave contract with Rome which declares us dead and lost at sea.

Straw man: Legal personality or legal fiction.

Source: Justinian Deception video – Grammatical Deceptions of the Underworld

Law: Grammatically defines Common Law of the land and soil jurisdiction.

LAW: Land, Air, Water.

Legal: Grammatically/verbally defines Admiralty/Maritime law of the sea jurisdiction, aka “Inland Piracy” with regard to “Trafficking in PERSONS”.

Legislation: Rule of a corporation. All acts, statutes, instruments and what is deemed as legal, are not law. They are only given the force of law that we consent to. To consent to the human body of law is to consent to a PERSONA and a false God.

Personal Income Tax: The International Revenue Service (IRS) has specifically declared that paying personal tax is voluntary. Given the billions of dollars of taxes that are wasted annually by governments, and the cost of living on a steep, manufactured rise again, the opportunity to lawfully stop paying income tax is worth investigating. Check with your country’s tax collection office.

Human Rights: Are not rights. Civil rights are not rights. They are benefits and privileges of the legal society. We are all born with God given inherent rights. There is no such thing as one man’s authority over another.

You Do Not Have To Consent: We are policed by consent. Police comes from policy. The policy man enforces the policies of the Crown corporation of which you are a citizen, which means worker or slave. You have handed your will and your life over to them. Know your basic laws and how to deal with a system that relies on ignorance to get away with fraud on a daily basis.

Our belief in these mental constructs (legal fictions) are the glue that holds the matrix together. In reality, there is no such thing as a man without a spirit (human). A natural man does exist but is spiritually discerned (different)… not spiritually void. His lack of faith/belief draws deception inward, such that he believes a lie. ~Aetherical Blogspot

The Kingdom of God is about truth, spiritual fulfilment and fulfilling your “purpose” according to the law of the Creator.

The Kingdom of Man is all about appearance. He who makes the best case (appearance) wins. It is all about winning, getting (and begetting); material fulfilment.

Human or Homo Sapien?

“Hu” and “man” mean “hue” and “man”. Color of man. It has form but not substance. A living body without spirit is not in the realm of reality. A human being is therefore the form rather than the substance of man.

Human: [Latin Humanus; Heb. Form, species] 3. Profane; not sacred or divine; as a human author. (Websters Dictionary 1828).

Belonging or relative to man as distinguished from God or superhuman beings; pertaining to the sphere or faculties of man (with implication of limitation or inferiority); Mundane; Secular; Often opposed to Divine. (Oxford New English Dictionary 1901)

Unbaptized indigenous populations were legally defined as “humans” and therefore “animals”. Legally, the NAME OF A HUMAN MUST ALWAYS BE IN CAPITALS TO IDENTIFY THAT INDIVIDUAL AS PROPERTY as distinct from a free man.

Homo Sapien: Latin homō (stem homin-) means “man” in the sense of “human being” (male or female). Sapien means “wise, sensible, judicious man or woman.”

Animals that have self-awareness and the capacity for abstract thought (dolphins, some apes, us) are called sapient (again, thoughtful or wise). Animals with senses are described as sentient (sentientem – “feeling”).

Why A Second Word For ‘Homo’ Was Created

The following definition of Human Being was provided by ex Jesuit Frank O’Collins in 2005:

Human Being. From Latin “Humanus”; a lesser/inferior man or woman defined legally as an ANIMAL or MONSTER distinct from the ancient (pre-Vatican) term homo: man.

A key rule of law from the 14th century describing a fundamental LEGAL FICTION was the NOTION of an inferior man or woman as an animal (as defined by Papal Decree) and therefore not subject to the laws of free men, but the laws of property.

The decision to create a second word for Homo (man) denoting an inferior ‘animal’ man, was crucial to the legal implementation of the Vatican global slave trade from the 14th century – to overcome the questions of legality and morality of the Vatican slave trade.

We Are Free To Choose

1. We can choose to identify with “man” as created in the image of God. Dwelling under the spiritual power: the supremacy of power.

2. We can choose to identify with, and assume the spiritless character of the human person created in the image of man, under the secular power: the Rule of Law.

Choose wisely.

I hope that you have found the information in this article to be helpful and reassuring during these transformational times and I wish you well on your path to inheriting your share of the earth and it’s glorious abundance. If you have successfully ‘unincorporated’ yourself from the Roman slave system, feel free to share some tips in the comments section. In the meantime, I shall leave you with the resonant, wise words of occult educator Mark Passio:

I live my life according to natural rights. Recognise it for the illusion that it is. There is no such thing as master who can legislate what you can or cannot do. There is no such thing as man’s authority over other men and women.

Boyd House – A Most Haunted Home In The Middle Of Nowhere

Boyd, Minnesota Image: Google Maps

There’s a remote and sleepy hollow cloaked in a dark past; a force drawing you back in time with an invitation to explore its eerie existence. The historic Boyd House once filled its walls with the sounds of children’s laughter is now filled with secrets. Imagine being transported back in time to a simpler era. A time without cell phones. A time when you knew your neighbours. A time when children played face to face. A time when family secrets were kept secret.

If you drive about two and a half hours west of Minneapolis, Minnesota, you’ll experience an endless road lined with farmers’ fields on both sides. Then suddenly, in the middle of nowhere, the fields unzip to reveal a small piece of civilization: the tiny city of Boyd, Minnesota. It’s a welcome visual break from the symmetrical monotony of flanking cornrows. Boyd sits upon land originally inhabited by the indigenous tribes of the Dakota and the Anishinaabe. Descendants still live there today.

Bygone Days of Boyd House

On the edge of town, on the North-East corner of Scandia Avenue and 2nd Street, you’ll find 217 Scandia Avenue, a majestic, whitewashed home with four floors and a welcoming front porch facing the Boyd water tower. On one side stands the old lumberyard. There are railway tracks behind the house which served as a community lifeline over a hundred years ago. The new owner, paranormal investigator Jill Shelley, has affectionately named it The Boyd House.

Built in 1901, the house deed goes back to 1884 when the land was owned by the Hastings and Dakota Railway Company and officially entrusted to a man named Charles F. Hatch. It is said that he committed suicide in 1889 by shooting himself. The replacement trustee appointed by the now called Wisconsin Minnesota and Pacific Railway Company, was R. C. Mitchell who soon conveyed the land to Maddie E. Hatch in 1889, as the executrix of Hatch’s will.

The land known as Lot SW ¼ Section 15, Township 116, Range 42, changed hands numerous times until it was purchased by Peter Blacksmith and Ida Krogstad, who were married when Ida was only ten years old. Ole Iverson also owned part of the land. In 1901, H. J. Haakenson and his wife Pauline bought the house.

Did Previous Boyd House Owners Leave A Spiritual Signature?

Fred Eckhardt, Jr. was born in Ontario, New York, and married to Minnie Fenske, a German Immigrant. They moved to Boyd in 1906 with their four children, Selma, Alfred, Oscar and Elsa and purchased the Boyd House in 1912. Fred opened a general merchandise store with his brother-in-law and soon became a well-respected contributor to the community. According to a book about Boyd that Jill received from town volunteers, Fred cultivated a solid rapport with his customers. He even minted his own coins for his customers’ convenient use. It has also been said that Fred was an avid gardener with some people claiming that they’ve seen his ghost tending to the garden.

Fred was also the local Justice of the Peace, a member of the school board, city council and even the fire department. He and his father built the Lutheran Church, which still stands today and can be seen from the front porch of the house on the opposite corner of the street.

The Boyd House and the Eckhardt General Merchandise store survived the Great Depression, a flood, and numerous robberies. The availability of its products was made possible by the proximity of the railroad nearby.

Is it possible that Fred and Minnie’s resilience and strong ties to the community have left a spiritual signature on the house, long after their deaths?

Jill Shelley’s Dream Come True

As a young girl, Jill Shelley had a keen interest in the spirit world. She nurtured her curiosity and brought it with her into adulthood. In 2010, she formed a team of paranormal investigators called St. Croix Paranormal. Over ten years, the team has visited numerous haunted locations all over the United States. Jill has worked as a surgical technician for the last 19 years and before that, as a veterinary technician for 18 years.

Somewhere along her journey, Jill conceived a dream. She wanted to buy her own haunted house and offer it to the public and other paranormal researchers. Determined to bring her dream into reality, Jill engaged a real estate agent and began her property search. As soon as she came across the photographs of 217 Scandia Avenue, she knew it was the one. Naturally, listings rarely include details of any reported paranormal events, so Jill relied on her intuition.

During her first visit to the haunted home, she said she felt as if she was being watched. Jill calls herself “old school” and loves the traditional investigator equipment, such as Radiating Electromagnetic (REM) pods, K2 meters, and spirit boxes. She placed REM pods in various rooms around the house and told us that the one in the purple room lit up within eight minutes of being set up. A picture of Fred and Minnie Eckhardt now hangs on the exterior wall of that room.

Book Of Boyd Evokes Nostalgic Spirits

Jill was given a book about Boyd’s history called “Memories 1884-1984 Boyd” which was put together by Boyd town volunteers. It’s full of details and photographs, including those of the Eckhardt family and their general store. During our interview, Jill reported that upon opening the book inside the house and asking the spirits about it, activity immediately increased. It is possible that spirits became emotional with nostalgia and were motivated to declare their presence when reunited with their past through those photographs.

Resident Spirits Feel At Home Again

Photos in the Boyd book indicate that the exterior has remained unchanged for over 100 years. With four bedrooms and two bathrooms, the house is a spacious 2120 square feet, and brimming with natural woodwork. Jill and her husband Justin have redecorated the house to recreate what they think it might have looked like. They added ornate Victorian-style wallpaper and antique-looking furniture and even brought in objects that are said to have spiritual attachments. Possibly, all of this might help any resident spirits feel welcome and at home again.

Jill named some of the rooms, such as the Purple Room and the Gold Room. In the kitchen, there is a sunny yellow dinner table with a grooved aluminium edge and matching vinyl and chrome chairs. The beautiful solid wood bannister and handrail of the staircase cordially invite visitors to climb the stairs with treads fitted with a dark floral carpet runner. The top floor of the house reveals a spacious walk-up attic with large windows allowing in enough light to banish only some of the shadows.

Diving Into The Deeper Layers of History

Thrilled with her new house, Jill set out to learn as much as she could about its history. She visited the local historical society and even met with the great-grandson of Fred Eckhardt, also named Fred Eckhardt. He gifted her a handful of coins from his great grandfather Fred Eckhardt’s general store. He also gave her photographs and the potato advertisement shown above. Jill’s research continues today. She has been able to dig up countless details about the haunted home, the surrounding area, and the people who lived there. Some of it, however, remains shrouded in mystery, with any secrets buried with their keepers.

Uncovering A Tragic Past

Fred and Minnie’s family grew steadily to a total of eleven children. Sadly, David and Violet and two of their other children died in infancy, with two of them reported by Jill as passing away in the Boyd House. Fred and Minnie would spend the rest of their lives in their beautiful home, both of them passing away in the house, three years apart. Minnie died of a stroke in 1955 and according to a copy of her Funeral program, is buried close by at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Fred died in 1958 at the age of 76. The house was later owned by Anna Maria Reichherzer and according to the deed, she was born May 24, 1887, and died October 16, 1977. Her daughter, Erica Just assumed sole ownership. Jill notes that Ms Reichherzer also passed away in the Boyd House.

None of this information appears in the real estate listing.

Are Spirits Trying to Reveal Sinister Secrets?

Many paranormal investigators have spent time examining the four floors of this haunted home, trying to capture electronic voice phenomena (EVP) and video footage of paranormal activity. None have reported experiencing any harmful or sinister events. In fact, some investigators report a calmness in the house and despite the numerous activity they claim to have experienced, none of it was threatening. However, one of the video recordings Jill Shelley has, is a voice saying “He stabbed her.” Who was stabbed? Was Minnie stabbed?

On another occasion, Jill was in the library room and asked, “Did you die here?” She describes a recording of a voice responding, “Search for the body.” Jill also mentioned that once when she checked the storage area at the end of the hallway on the first floor, she heard a distinct “Don’t hurt me” plea when she checked the recording. Jill describes feeling extremely uneasy at the threshold of the master bedroom closet. Did horrible and unspeakable events happen in this house? If so, did they happen while the Eckhardt Family lived there? Perhaps it is the children’s spirits simply playing pranks on anyone who visits.

Boyd House Brims With Ghostly Tales

I’ve heard of playful spirits before. Not all ghosts are evil. There are probably some who are mischievous and who enjoy playing tricks on visitors. You can imagine what the house sounded like with so many Eckhardt children running around. They didn’t have television or video games. They probably explored every corner of the house, played hide and seek in the closets, and stayed up late in the dark, giggling together in their shared bedrooms.

Jill Shelley told me that the spirits in the house love to play cards, especially the game 21 while she uses a K2 meter. She even has a video of a card being pushed off the edge of a table after she asked them to do so. If you have ever had a cat, you know what that move looks like. Anything remotely close to the edge of a table or counter is fair game to the intentional flick of a cat’s paw. Although no cat could be seen in the video footage, one psychic told Jill that the spirit of Samson the cat resides in the house.

Of the many paranormal investigator teams that have stayed in the house, one of them, the Northern Outer Realm Paranormal Society, gave Jill a video capturing what appears to be two shadow figures, one substantially shorter than the other, running through the kitchen. Others have reported hearing children’s laughter or being touched. One of the researchers in a documentary about the Boyd House, says he felt a finger touch the back of his head. Jill herself said she’s been touched in the house. Maybe the spirits want to play a game of tag. Maybe it’s the ghost of Samson the cat, wanting his head scratched.

Why Is The Population Declining?

Isn’t it strange that the population of Boyd shrunk to only 141 people (Decennial Census) by the year 2020? That is a significant decline. In 1920, it was a booming town of 549 people complete with a town hotel, a dentist, a veterinarian, a piano teacher and hunting season lodging. Mr Pratt, who owned the hotel at one point, was killed by a train. Does the reduction in population have anything to do with the deaths associated with The Boyd House or the paranormal events that have been reported in the house? Of course, there can be many explanations. We may never know the real answers.

Boyd House Image Jill Shelley

Boyd House Is Open for Visitors

Jill and Justin Shelley have opened the house to visitors. Groups of up to eight people can stay overnight in the house from 3:00 p.m. to noon the next day. Recently, they added a coffee station on the first floor. For more information on booking your stay, visit the website.

“Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes, in the middle nowhere you find yourself.” ~Unknown”

After talking with Jill Shelley, seeing the old photographs she sent, and the video footage of evidence from her and other investigators in her documentary film, all I could think of was picturing myself in the house. I would be relaxing in the wingback chair beside the piano and hoping to hear a few of the piano keys being played. I would have my computer resting on my lap while I conjured up words to fill the page with my next article.

While Jill and Justin continue to research the history of the house, many questions will remain unanswered. We may never know what secrets are buried with the Eckhardt family or the other owners of the house. One thing is certain, this grand structure holds an inexplicable charm that appeals to my love for old things and the stories they hold. Perhaps the peaceful city of Boyd will help people find themselves. Perhaps this house in the middle of nowhere will someday double as a writer’s retreat with spirits as muses who have someone to write their stories.

Skeptics Are Psychic: The Mirror Worlds Studies

In sum, just as the magical traditions have maintained, belief modulates psi performance. In other words, if you don’t believe in magic, then no magic for you.

Real Magic, by Dean Radin

For the first time in the 14 years I’ve been writing about parapsychology, I’m writing about a group of experiments directly from the original studies and only from the original studies with help from the researcher. Why? Because I’m one of the first people outside of the research team and faculty committee members that’s read them. These experiments focus on psi missing (missing targets in excess of chance rates) which has some pretty interesting ramifications.

What usually happens is that by the time I see a particular area of research, it’s already been picked over like a Christmas turkey at a homeless camp. There are typically lengthy technical summaries, news articles, blog posts, skeptical commentary and other explanations that paint a picture of the research through various eyes.

It is quite strange to have no skepticism to wade through, no other articles examining the research and no one else to talk to about it aside from the original researcher. Outside of the original papers, which have been online, hidden in plain sight for a few years, this research is being shared with the world for the very first time in this article.

Most people have very little contact with scientific research into psychic ability outside of the occasional item they might see in a magazine or newspaper about a new study. Very few people, scientists included, know that credible research even exists.

Psi Wars: TED, Wikipedia and the Battle for the Internet, by Craig Weiler

The Professor

Meet Russell Gruber, PhD, who ran a parapsychology lab at Eastern Illinois University (EIU) for 18 years.

Russell Gruber image credit: Russell Gruber

He grew up in White Plains, a suburb north of New York City, with a social worker mom, a father who built animatronic puppets, an older sister and a younger brother.  He remembers being an introspective child, and recalls, from a young age, being fascinated by the ability to vividly imagine things in daydreams and the more vivid realities created in dreams at night. These early interests eventually led him to a career in psychology with a focus on the study of consciousness.

Recently retired, Gruber summarizes his professorship at Eastern Illinois University:

After earning a BA from Stony Brook and a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Cincinnati in 1988, I joined the psychology department at Eastern in 1991.  My early research focused on lucid dreaming, nightmares and uncovering styles and functions of dreaming but I shifted in mid-career to the study of parapsychology.

During my 28 years at Eastern I taught primarily as a member of the Clinical Psychology master’s program, including courses on psychotherapy, cognitive assessment, and internship seminars.  I also really enjoyed the chance to teach at the undergraduate level.  My favorite course, each spring semester, was a capstone seminar titled the psychology of mind that allowed me to integrate my interests in consciousness, dreaming, mind-body health, and parapsychology.

In addition to teaching and conducting my own research, I chaired over 30 Masters theses, supervised over 100 interns and many undergraduate researchers.

Gruber also won 5 awards for teaching excellence from EIU along the way. Like many parapsychologists, his personal psychic experiences initially drew his interest towards psi research, but because controversy follows parapsychology everywhere, he wisely followed the well worn path of waiting until he had tenure to open a parapsychology lab. As he says: “I feel like what I’ve been doing for my job is more entertaining than what a lot of other people do for fun. Once I started finding psychic stuff in the lab, I was hooked.”

Truly Independent

Gruber’s research was done completely independently of the parapsychology community for many years while using his own novel methods, and in the process he replicated many important findings in this field of research. This is huge for parapsychology because it means that these findings confirm that previous research results didn’t occur because of peculiarities or flaws in the original studies.

Innovations in Psi Research

Gruber and his team of undergraduates and graduate students did not set out to prove the existence of psi. Given the many successful experiments dating back to the 1950’s, that would not have contributed much to the field. After examining the literature, they concentrated on finding out more about what it takes to successfully test for psychic ability.

Gruber, along with many other parapsychologists operate from a field theory perspective, which assumes an underlying, unseen interconnectedness between people. He began by placing people in social groups (this creates a social field) to test the theory. The experiments were essentially replications of phenomena that had already been observed in other studies. Gruber and his team, with this one simple methodology, explored multiple phenomena including the effect of belief, psi missing, differentiation and field effects.

The Answer is a Battleship

The team began with an experiment where the group attempted to psychically help the receiver find a target in a series of Where’s Waldo pictures. It didn’t work. The pictures they used had so much information in them that may have overloaded any telepathy that might have occurred. Gruber describes this as “way too much noise.”

Next, the team tried an experiment with unscrambling anagrams, but again, it just wasn’t a good task for psi research.

Then, one evening, during a research meeting, one of the assistants, Mike Steinhour, suggested using the board game Battleship, and it worked.

Using the battleship game as a model, the team ran a pilot study using a nine grid square to see how the test subjects would do. They were allowed to keep trying until they got a hit. The results were promising right away and then here’s what happened on the 12th run:

Image: Russell Gruber

This research assistant got six direct hits out of twelve possible. The odds of this happening by chance are less than one in a thousand. Gruber and his team felt pretty sure that they were on to something.

Gruber explained:

We tried a grid of nine targets (allowing repeat calls) and very quickly got strong evidence of psi – but the task was tedious and frustrating. We then tried a rectangle with four targets – one in each corner and this became the forced choice, spatial location task that we used for the majority of experiments. I consider these to be mental telepathy experiments, (as opposed to clairvoyance or precognition) as senders were an integral part of the method.

Nine Theses Tell the Tale

This kicked off 18 years of process oriented research. Many of the findings from the experiments were written up in the form of 9 master theses by his students over the course of several years. An advantage of master theses over published experiments is that they go into far more depth both in the literature review and the explanation of the experiments themselves. The students spent a lot of time and effort on these theses, making them clear and thorough. As a result, they are easier to follow than most experiment write ups.

Gruber ran the studies with a team of research assistants while graduate students performed the task of literature review and write up. (There are actually ten parapsychology theses, but one of them is a telephone telepathy replication.) There are a number of studies that didn’t make it into theses, some successful, some not. While many directions were explored over the years, the nine theses represent the core of the work.

When the masters theses are read in chronological order, they lay out the evolution of an increasingly sophisticated, yet relatively simple experiment that lends very convincing support to many previous researcher’s findings. In addition, the research shows glimpses into how we are all shaping our own realities. More on that later.

Running in Silent Mode

Gruber made the decision early on to run his parapsychology lab with a low profile, which is why the research hasn’t gone the route of formal publishing, which in turn is why it’s only now being widely shared. There were several very good reasons for this.

First, he would have had to spend time publishing instead of doing experiments, so he and his team would have accomplished far less. Once the research got out into the world, he would have to fend off skeptics and defend the experiments rather than improve them.

Second, this is process oriented research, not proof oriented, so the emphasis was on learning from previous experiments as a guide to designing the next, not proving a specific hypothesis. Dealing with criticism while you’re still working things out isn’t helpful. Third, the low profile meant that the lab wasn’t drawing unwanted outside attention, so Gruber and his team were left alone.

Hits and Psi Missing

A key component of this research centers around a well known phenomena in parapsychology known as “psi missing.” In testing, you typically measure for psychic ability by comparing it to purely chance results. Success is typically called a “hit” and a failure is called a “miss.” Since the objective is to produce results that are not the result of pure chance, you can do this either by succeeding in excess of chance rates or missing in excess of chance rates. The latter is what’s called “psi missing.”

Gruber’s research leaned into examining the psi missing effect and found that it was often easier to trigger than psi hitting in a lab setting.

The experiment evolved over the years, centering around the relatively simple concept of choosing between four locations with one space randomly designated as a hit and one randomly designated as a miss. If you got a hit or a miss, you stopped there, but any other result allowed you to keep trying.

This eventually evolved into a challenge for money. For example, in some studies test subjects got paid for hits, while in others, they competed with each other in teams. This was primarily intended to keep them actively engaged and focused. Even with a monetary incentive for correct answers, psi missing was often the expected outcome.

Speaking of money, the research was self funded by Gruber. On the days he ran experiments he withdrew $100 of his own money in $1 bills occasionally clarified to the tellers that this was for scientific experiments, not a strip club. Parapsychology research is rarely properly funded and he spent thousands of dollars of his own money to support the research.

This is a foam board from one of the earlier studies, before the studies were automated as a computer program. Image: Russell Gruber

Heather Warner-Angel explained the methodology in her thesis:

An example of a typical methodology is as follows: A receiver, picked at random from a group of senders, sits in an isolated room in front of a foam board marked with four target circles (one in each corner). Three red discs with strips of Velcro adhered to the backs are used as target markers.

The receiver is viewed via closed video feed by a group of senders who are facing an identical foam board in a separate room with only two red discs, one marked (+$) and the other marked (-$). Target locations for the (+$) and (-$) discs are selected in the sender room by using random numbers. The receiver is signaled by a bell tone that the target locations have been chosen. The senders try to transmit the (+$) target location to the receiver telepathically and the receiver attempts to locate it marking it on the foam board with one of the discs.

The receiver continues to place discs on the board until either the (+$) or (-$) target is found. If the (+$) is selected by the third attempt, a bell is sounded to indicate that the receiver has scored a “hit.” If the (-$) target is chosen, a buzzer is sounded to indicate that the receiver has scored a
“miss.” Several trials (usually 16) are run. The receiver is returned to the sender room and another receiver is randomly selected from the group. A single response is referred to as a trial, a set of trials constitutes a run, a series of runs constitutes a session, and several sessions comprise an experiment. (Warner-Angel, 2017)

Gruber explained that this methodology uses a number of innovations. He pointed out that a problem with forced choice psi tasks is the strong tendency of participants to avoid repeating previous answers. He explained that by allowing more than one try to locate a target, and using location instead of a picture or a symbol, and adding a “miss” target, this tendency may be significantly diminished.

Another advantage of adding the miss target is that it makes hits and misses equally likely to occur by chance, which in turn may allow better measurements of “psi defensiveness” – the unconscious creation of a defensive state of mind- leading to the rejection of useful psychic information.

Social Groups

In an early study, the experimenters created an artificial social situation by separating people into two groups to test the field theory hypothesis. In-groups (people who were members of a large group of senders) did much better than Out-groups (people who were excluded from the group).

Image: “The Effects of Social Fields on the Telepathic Reception of Information” Yarnell (2003)

The graph shows the In-group beating the Out-group 12 nights in a row. (12 hits on the graph is a chance result.) While In-group participants scored significantly higher than chance, the far stronger effect was the psi-missing of the Out-group members.

Psi Missing or Psi Defensive

The problem is that if all you were to do was simply combine everyone’s results in a psi experiment, the combined results would mostly cancel each other out and the experiment would appear to get chance results.

The concept of psi missing is not new in parapsychology literature and this study replicates previous findings, but it does so in very clever ways.

Certain people have a tendency to score in opposite directions because of personal characteristics or experimental conditions. Gruber’s team manipulated and measured this, whether it was belief, friendliness, group membership or other criteria, and the results were striking.

Image: “Psi Performance, Belief in Psi, and Competition in a Game-Show Format” Warner-Angel (2017)

The high belief group and the low belief group mirror each other. For each belief group, the number of people who scored below chance are blue and the number of people who scored above chance are orange. For high believers 21 scored above chance, while 7 scored below chance. While for low believers, 8 scored above chance, while 15 scored below chance.

Image: “Social Fields, Belief In Psi, And Their Effects On
Mental Telepathy” Brandy McWhorter 2005

You can see in the second chart from a different study that this effect was not a one-off. The odds that this kind of lineup would happen by chance is thousands to one.

The phenomena of missing in excess of chance tells us something important here. You can’t consistently miss in excess of chance unless you’re psychic on some level. It means that the low believers must subconsciously know the correct answer and are going out of their way to avoid it (aka psi-defensiveness). At a subconscious level, these test subjects seem to be attempting to confirm their belief that psi doesn’t exist, but paradoxically, the effort requires psychic ability.

There were more tests to do in order to confirm this observation. Gruber and his team did experiments where they asked low and high believers to hit the targets. As expected, the high believers scored above chance and the low believers scored below chance.

Great, Now Please Miss the Target

In two experiments they asked the test subjects to intentionally miss the target. In the first experiment, (Parker, 2006) the participants missed the targets, exceeding expectations. In the second experiment however, high believers performed the task asked of them, but amazingly, the low believers actually started getting hits in excess of chance. It appears that the psychic ability is functioning, but that the low believers are using it to act against the requested intent of the experiment.

High believers and low believers operate with the same information but process it differently, solely due to what they believe is possible. I have suggested that this be called “The Mirror World Effect” and Gruber agrees.

Like the Mirror Universe in Star Trek, where people from the mirror universe have a darker frame of mind, which has led them into a darker, more hostile society, low believers have the same access to their useful psychic abilities, but subconsciously reject the correct information because they don’t believe in it. It isn’t much of a stretch to imagine that this kind of rejection is probably carrying over into other areas of their lives.

Even in their unconscious rejection of their own psychic ability, low believers seem to use it anyway, although at cross purposes with their own intentions.

The Mirror Worlds Effect

Image: Canva

While differences in the belief in psychic ability were the strongest indicator of this mirroring effect, it occurred in other areas as well. In-group vs. out-group, enthusiastic vs. bored, men vs. women, previous experience vs. novice, known vs. unknown senders and friendly vs. unfriendly interactions. What makes the mirror effect stand out is that you have both significantly above and significantly below chance results from the same procedure within the same experiment when you divide the data according to these dichotomies.

This effect is not entirely unknown in parapsychology. Ramakrishna Rao referred to this as the differential effect in his book “The Elements of Parapsychology” (McFarland & Company, Inc. 2017). By assigning equal probabilities to hits and misses, Gruber’s methodology is particularly sensitive to this differential/Mirror Worlds effect.

The experimenters made no attempt to select participants based on any psi ability they had. They did make sure to ask questions in order to distinguish, in various experiments, between high and low believers; they rated friendliness vs. non friendliness and noted enthusiasm vs. boredom. Or they created competing teams or divided participants into in-groups and out-groups using an experiment that measured hits and misses the same way. That’s because they weren’t looking specifically for psi hits or psi misses, but rather the mirror worlds effect, which is the opposing tendencies between the results of these groups.

Gruber and his team did the seemingly impossible: regularly getting significant results from an unselected population. This is rarely accomplished in psi research.

The results of these experiments strongly support “First Sight” theory, which holds that psychic ability is “on” all the time. The theory states:

• Psi is not unusual or non-normal; it is a characteristic of all living organisms.
• Psi is not rare; it is continuously ongoing for each organism.
• Psi is not an ability; it is a perpetually active aspect of our engagement with reality.

This research also sheds some light on why psychic ability can be so hard to measure. If it’s functioning all the time, then the noise of randomness that is measured in experiments is as much a part of psychic functioning as any of the more obvious displays of it, but we only notice it when it rises above the noise of randomness. “Water? asked the fish, what water?”

Out of curiosity, I asked Gruber how the low believers approached the psychic task. Did they instinctively clear their minds and focus on the task? This led to a broader discussion. Gruber explained:

It’s hard to say for sure how any one participant felt ….in the first place you have to understand that these experiments were taking place at six in the evening in the science building on a college campus for people to receive course credit.

Depending on the time of semester and other characteristics of the individual groups, it was a challenge to get people to participate enthusiastically . . . We had groups of researchers and an interesting study, a chance to win money . . . But, now imagine that you’re a little bit annoyed about having to be here . . . and somebody asks you “on a seven point scale do you believe in mental telepathy“ and you say “one“ very unlikely to exist . . . . My sense is that most people who answered low on the belief scale didn’t really try (consciously) at all and thought that it was silly.

[A] lot of these things are related to why it is easier to get people to miss targets then to hit them in a lab. Sometimes people with high belief scores, possibly because they are psychically sensitive, score well below chance. [There is] a psychic sensitivity that allows them to know where the targets are and the same sensitivity [also] causes them to reject the targets as intrusive information.

. . . The problem was getting students in the sender room to focus – a lot of times they were distracted and we considered this a problem… But again not so much for psi missing.

I think the people with high belief scores took the task much more seriously and tried hard to find the targets. Unfortunately, for low believers, the data appears to show that they actually are missing without thinking… Maybe to maintain [their] belief system… Maybe to be stubborn.

One thing that has become clear to me in my years of running a parapsychology lab focusing on social situations on a college campus, is that creating an atmosphere that is perceived by most participants as psi conducive (warm, friendly, spontaneous, and open) is not easy. Doing this under strictly controlled laboratory conditions with an unselected population (subject pool), is harder.  And doing this in a consistent, replicable way, with multiple groups, over multiple evenings, over the course of a semester, is almost impossible.

Another thing that has become clear to me is that significant psi missing is much easier to elicit in a lab than psi hitting. It seems to me that psi defensiveness is omnipresent, unconscious, and is, for many people, a natural reaction to day-to-day life – particularly in the individualistic, competitive society we live in. I have found that this is easily exaggerated in an unselected population by the laboratory conditions in psi experiments.

What these experiments show us, by focusing on psi missing, is that our subconscious appears to be presenting us with the reality that we believe in. This includes active subconscious avoidance of things that we don’t think are true, causing us to reject useful information. We are left to wonder how this might be affecting us in our daily lives.

Most Haunted Places: Raynham Hall, Norfolk, UK

At Paranormal Daily News, we regularly provide you with the best haunted places. Those of you interested in the paranormal, and like to go ghost hunting from time to time, have an increased chance of seeing a ghost in one of these places. The most haunted place we are going to discuss today? Raynham Hall!

Raynham Hall Location and History

Haunted Raynham Hall

Raynham Hall is situated in Norfolk, United Kingdom. The illustrious country house has been the home of the Townshend family for more than four-hundred years. Between 1674 and 1738, the country house was even the home of Charles Townshend, the 2nd Viscount Townshend as well as the leader of the House of Lords.

The Raynham country house is a popular destination for tourists. Not only does the mansion have some splendid architecture and paintings to enjoy, the mansion also houses its own resident ghost, the Brown Lady of Raynham Hall.

The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall

Many people travel to Raynham Hall to catch a glimpse of the Brown Lady of Raynham Hall, one of the most famous ghosts in the entire United Kingdom.

The “Brown Lady” became a phenomenon in the United Kingdom after it was photographed by a reporter for Country Life Magazine. The apparition was promptly named after its discovery by popular media, even though sightings of the Brown Lady happened well before the photograph was published.

The Ghost of Lady Dorothy Walpole

The ghost who is believed to haunt Raynham Hall is Lady Dorothy Walpole, who was the sister of Robert Walpole. Even though it is not noted as such in the history books, Robert is believed to have been the first prime minister of the United Kingdom.

Lady Dorothy Walpole was the second wife of Charles Townshend. Legend has it that Charles was a violent man. After discovering his wife had an affair with Lord Wharton, it is claimed he locked Lady Walpole in her room within Raynham Hall.

However, Mary Wortley Montagu would later claim the Countess of Wharton was the one who was responsible for Dorothy’s imprisonment. Dorothy would remain in Raynham Hall until her death in 1726. She died of smallpox.

There have been numerous sightings of the Brown Lady, the first dating to Christmas 1835, when Lucia C. Stone claimed she had encountered an apparition during a Christmas gathering. The Brown Lady was also seen by a number of guests who were invited to the gathering, including Colonel Loftus and Hawkins.

A mere year after the first sightings of the Brown Lady, Captain Frederick Marryat claimed to have seen the Brown Lady. Frederick’s daughter, Florence Marryat, would later pen down her father’s experience.

…he took possession of the room in which the portrait of the apparition hung, and in which she had been often seen, and slept each night with a loaded revolver under his pillow. For two days, however, he saw nothing, and the third was to be the limit of his stay. On the third night, however, two young men (nephews of the baronet), knocked at his door as he was undressing to go to bed, and asked him to step over to their room (which was at the other end of the corridor), and give them his opinion on a new gun just arrived from London. My father was in his shirt and trousers, but as the hour was late, and everybody had retired to rest except themselves, he prepared to accompany them as he was. As they were leaving the room, he caught up his revolver, “in case you meet the Brown Lady,” he said, laughing. When the inspection of the gun was over, the young men in the same spirit declared they would accompany my father back again, “in case you meet the Brown Lady,” they repeated, laughing also. The three gentlemen therefore returned in company.

The corridor was long and dark, nor the lights had been extinguished, but as they reached the middle of it, they saw the glimmer of a lamp coming towards them from the other end. “One of the ladies going to visit the nurseries,” whispered the young Townshend to my father. Now the bedroom doors in that corridor faced each other, and each room had a double door with a space between, as is the case in many old-fashioned houses. My father, as I have said, was in shirt and trousers only, and his native modesty made him feel uncomfortable, so he slipped within one of the outer doors (his friends following his example), in order to conceal himself until the lady should have passed by.

I have heard him describe how he watched her approaching nearer and nearer, through the chink of the door, until, as she was close enough for him to distinguish the colors and style of her costume, he recognized the figure as the facsimile of the portrait of “The Brown Lady”. He had his finger on the trigger of his revolver, and was about to demand it to stop and give the reason for its presence there, when the figure halted of its own accord before the door behind which he stood, and holding the lighted lamp she carried to her features, grinned in a malicious and diabolical manner at him. This act so infuriated my father, who was anything but lamb-like in disposition, that he sprang into the corridor with a bound, and discharged the revolver right in her face. The figure instantly disappeared – the figure at which for several minutes three men had been looking together – and the bullet passed through the outer door of the room on the opposite side of the corridor, and lodged in the panel of the inner one. My father never attempted again to interfere with “The Brown Lady of Raynham”. – Florence Marryatt

With many sightings dating back to the 1800’s, Raynham Hall is undoubtedly worth a visit for anyone who would like the opportunity to see the Brown Lady of Raynham Hall. Even though sightings are now less than in the 1800’s, Raynham Hall is still one of the most haunted places in the United Kingdom.

Defending The Soul

This article is a rebuttal to the article; “Souls: It’s Time We Give Up the Ghost” recently published in Psychology Today by Bill Sullivan Ph.D. While I am not an academic, I am an author and paranormal researcher who can certainly spot a bad argument when I see one.

The article suggests that we should give up the idea of a soul. It suggests we find the hidden power in refuting the idea of a soul. It is rather like saying one should deny the existence of our thoughts. These thoughts certainly exist but have no material form. The author suggests that all emotion is controlled by the brain. Therefore, that would suggest that no matter what emotion we experience, it would be a purely physical process. But emotions are also thoughts, and the physical experience of emotion comes from those non-material thoughts.

The arguments put forth regarding emotion and healing or experiences of a visual nature and degeneration or disease, suggest that split-brain means that consciousness is the brain when in fact, this could not be further from the truth. Conclusive research, as noted in Science Daily and Brain, indicates that split-brain does not mean split consciousness (Split brain: divided perception but undivided consciousness)

The Argument Against The Soul Is Weak

Sullivan begins his argument with an example of how split-brain patients experience two different realities at the same time. He then argues that this would not happen with a unified soul. This argument is one of the better ones that are made in defense of materialism, but it relies on materialist assumptions.

Once you examine those assumptions, the argument is less clear-cut. Consider this, if a radio is broken or cannot receive transmissions in the field – perhaps in a military environment. The soldier or operator would not blame the signal. It is not the signal that is broken. In fact, the signal is still operating perfectly. The radio signal does not require a receiver for its existence. Therefore, the signal exists whether the receiver is there or not. The reality is the radio receiver is broken. Therefore, the only issue is the receiver. Should the soldier Sullivan is therefore blaming the radio signal, which is nonsensical and the argument is rather futile.

In my opinion, it seems to me that Sullivan is labeling the soul as a being or separate entity. Suggesting the doppelgänger if you will, existing as an entity on its own with form and function parallel to the material form. The article actually shows that he has very specific perceptions of the reality of the soul. He thinks he understands what the soul actually is, and what part it plays in human function. His belief is based upon the assumption the brain is acting as the soul, or that because the brain acts within its varying pathways based on stimulus and emotion, the soul cannot exist.

A Potential Understanding Of The Soul

Defending The Soul’s Existence

If one is forced to believe a soul is a separate form, that it has its own identity and personality, then of course Sullivan’s assumptions may have some merit. But this assumption is at best, based on a reductionist, materialistic view of science and does not look toward the plethora of survival evidence that suggests the contrary. Consequently, in the article, the author tries to forcibly play his hand by claiming the newest research in this field supports his assumptions. Furthermore, it is noted the article does not cite any real case studies that have valid efficacy and are replicable, as continually pointed out – a requirement of real scientific inquiry. The scientific evidence for Psi is overwhelming and serves to refute materialist claims and assumptions. Not including this research as part of the discussion in Bill’s article, means the conclusions are cherry-picked to suit.

The soul, like any word in our language, has an etymological history. We find it easier to attach labels to concepts in order to satisfy our need for understanding. If we look at the origin of the word, we can deduce where this concept or construct has come from.

The modern English word soul derives from the Old English sáwol, sáwel, which itself comes from the Old High German sêula, sêla. The Germanic word is a translation of the Greek psychē (ψυχή- “life, spirit, consciousness”) by missionaries such as Ulfila, apostle to the Goths (fourth century C.E.).

This has become increasingly misunderstood, as in modern times, many people tend to label the soul and give it form with the assumption of it being a separate form from consciousness. The reality, of course, is the soul is not formed and is not biological or physiological in function.

Theories In Biocentrism

Again, this is my own opinion with regard to the soul and whether it exists as a separate being or energy. In my mind, the soul is an aspect of the animating force that gives life, that allows the functioning of the being in human form within the constructs of material existence. This is also an opinion shared by others and noted in Robert Lanza M.D’s article: “Does the soul exist, the evidence says yes!”. Robert cites many new hypotheses from modern research on the subject titled Biocentrism. This theory challenges the model widely accepted in the science community, which is based in materialism and draws many conclusions based on false assumptions.

Soul, therefore, is spirit and spirit is the aspect of the animating force that is creation itself. It is not a separate being that is outside the human form and in the same way that the brain is needed to function in the rest of the material or corporeal form, so too, the spirit is needed for the human brain to function. Without this animating force, the brain is lifeless and is connected to nothing.

Where are the replicable studies?

Sullivan further states in his article,

“Science has definitively shown that all of the things that define us, including our thoughts, emotions, and memories, are generated by the brain.”

Where are these studies cited and are they replicable? Scientists are forever hammering us about the need for studies to be validated through replication. Yet nowhere in this article does the author try to prove his assumptions. He only gleans over information that is gathered from hypotheses and perceptions. His argument also falls flat with other studies that have further evidence of a vastly different hypothesis that can be replicated.

Intelligent discourse and reasoning

We know from afterlife research and evidential communications from discarnate beings, that reasoning and intelligent discarnate communications exist. Yet, if we were relying on the assumptions of the author, this would be impossible. Why? Because there is no human brain, which means that these beings who communicate from the other side of life would not be able to communicate intelligently or reason with information being gleaned.

Near-Death Experiences

If indeed the brain is the only form of consciousness and all emotion is contained within those neural pathways, then how can near-death experiences give empirical evidence of events and intelligent information with the capacity to reason, when the brain is in fact – dead – for lack of a better term.

Empirical Mediumship Evidence

Afterlife Research

One particular medium stands out in the annals of parapsychological history. Leonora Piper was one of the most remarkable mediums in the world and one of the most researched mediums. Piper produced remarkable empirical evidence over many years and was subjected to rigorous scientific research by notable pioneers in parapsychology. Professor William James of Harvard sat with Piper and was so convinced of the evidence that he continued to arrange sittings for research purposes. James arranged for a colleague from the Society of Psychical Research (SPR) to carry on the sittings. Richard Hodgson, an Australian who had been teaching law and philosophy in England, began to work full time on the sittings which were conducted three times per week.

Several reports were presented on the sittings with Piper and research continued. Noted researcher Sir Oliver Lodge remarked:

The trance is, to the best of my belief, a genuine one. In it Mrs. Piper is (sometimes, at least) insensible to pain, as tested by suddenly pushing a needle into her hand, which causes not the slightest flinching; and her pulse is affected beyond what I can imagine to be the control of volition.8Remarkable Evidence Verified.

Frederick Myers Founding Member Of The Society Of Psychical Research

Frederick Meyers, who also researched Piper noted her integrity and honesty. In a statement made as to the nature of the intelligent discourse, he confirmed the following:

that many of the facts given could not have been learnt even by a skilled detective; (2) that to learn others of them, although possible, would have needed an expenditure of money as well as of time which it seems impossible to suppose that Mrs. Piper could have met; and (3) that her conduct has never given any ground whatever for supposing her capable of fraud or trickery. Few persons have been so long and so carefully observed; and she has left on all observers the impression of thorough uprightness, candour, and honesty.

Cross Correspondences

If we are refuting the idea that the brain controls all intelligence and consciousness, it is important to also consider examples of cross correspondences. This was a research modality that was prevalent in the early 20th century as scientific research into the phenomenon of automatic writing. Piper was also involved in these formal studies and research. This form of communication, performed under scientific conditions, is perhaps one of the best forms of evidential communication that refutes the necessity of the existence of the brain for the existence of consciousness. In fact, by 1936, there were over 3000 transcripts recorded and analyzed by notable SPR researchers. The evidence contained within those transcripts was considered to be the best proof of survival of bodily death.

Cross correspondences demonstrate that information coming from a discarnate being through automatic writing under trance conditions can not only be validated but the information gained could not be attained through other means. Again, this would be impossible if the brain was indeed in control. Even though cross correspondences are still controversial, the given examples of intelligence still refute the necessity of the brain for consciousness to exist.

Further Empirical Validation

Another example of this type of empirical evidence was demonstrated in another séance by a medium known as Estelle Roberts and her guide Red Cloud, who was known to get it wrong on occasion. Nevertheless, during one particular sitting, Bessie Manning came through the medium and asked Barbanell to pass a message to her mother. Barbannel sent her mother 2 telegrams in order to relay the message and the evidence given by the discarnate spirit was properly validated.

This should be impossible under Sullivan’s materialist assumptions, but it did indeed happen and here we are.

Past Lives

Research into past lives suggests the existence of more than one personality experience in other lives prior to the one in the present moment. Dr. Ian Stevenson (Now Deceased) was perhaps the most notable researcher in the field of past life research. His work is now continued by Dr. Jim Tucker of the Division Of Perceptual Studies At Virginia University. Stevenson’s work spanned many years and culminated in thousands of cases of children whose evidence of past lives was incredibly accurate.

If memory was stored in the brain only and the soul contained only in the brain, how can the evidence of a past life surface when the brain of the subject would be different from the brain in the past life’s existence? This suggests that consciousness or the existence of the soul is not a prerequisite of brain function.

In Memory Of You

In another remarkable statement, the author suggests that memory is indeed a function of the brain and that losing memory in a case such as Alzheimer’s would mean the soul does not exist. The following statement is a weak point of his argument for the non-existence of the brain.

If our soul contains our memories and experiences, then the amyloid plaques that form in the brain of Alzheimer’s patients should not rob us of them. If our soul was separate from our brain, lobotomies should not work. Anesthesia should not work. Novocain should not work.

Our memories here are not as full and real as the memories in the spirit; what escapes us here, cannot escape the memory in the spirit. The reality is that we are all a sum total of all memories. There have been examples of discarnate beings who in this life suffered from memory loss or from the effects of psychological disturbance, yet the evidence relayed brings forth the memories they once forgot that had to be third person validated. Once more, this refutes the idea that the brain is the constant in all forms of conscious experiences.

Jungian Psychology

“I shall not commit the fashionable stupidity of regarding everything I cannot explain as a fraud.” —address to the Society for Psychical Research in England” ― C.G. Jung

In this article, Sullivan tried to argue that the soul did not exist. However, the basis of the argument is in material assumptions and beliefs. He fails to consider other evidence that weighs heavily in favor of the soul, and he further rejects other parapsychological evidence that supports the survival of consciousness. To a materialist, he is convincing, but his argument fails when you provide research that adequately refutes his argument.

The Intriguing Case of a Submarine, Shipwreck And Mystery Signal

Practically from the moment that scientists began to look into psychic ability, the main questions were “What is the mechanism? How are they doing it?” Is it radio waves? What about Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) waves?

Does Psychic Ability Use Radio Waves?

Quite expectedly, people assumed that radio waves were responsible for psychic ability. They were first discovered in 1865 by German physicist Heinrich Hertz and Guglielmo Marconi sent the first wireless message in 1895. Radio waves were something relatively new, and it was easy for most people to imagine that they were responsible. Writer Upton Sinclair even coined the term “Mental Radio.”

The body does emit electrical signals and has a rhythm of electrical discharges, making electromagnetic (EM) waves a natural focal point for telepathy research.

The problem, though, was that radio waves and psychic ability didn’t seem to follow the same rules. Radio waves lose strength over distance and don’t pass through everything with ease. In addition, they can be blocked entirely with a Faraday cage. Psychic ability seemed to get around this, but experiments were needed to confirm this.

Parapsychology Behind the Iron Curtain

The first person to tackle this question thoroughly was a Russian scientist named Leonid Vasiliev (1891-1966). Vasiliev was Russia’s best parapsychologist at the time and considered a peer of JB Rhine. Unfortunately, his career was at its peak during the Iron Curtain phase of Russian history, keeping his achievements from being known in the West until his two books Experiments in Mental Suggestion and Mysterious Phenomena of the Human Psyche were translated to English and published in 1963.

Using caves and metal cabinets as Faraday cages, Vasiliev applied remote viewing techniques established by French parapsychologist and Nobel Laureate, Charles Richet. Vasiliev was able to establish that telepathy and remote viewing did not experience a weaker signal or any loss of data even when the place they were in was completely shielded either by putting participants in a cave or in Faraday cages. This methodology ruled out almost every type of EM wave. It left only one type to explore. The ELF wave. These Extremely Low Frequency waves are very big electromagnetic waves and will go through almost anything.

The Problem with ELF Waves

It is very difficult to eliminate ELF waves as a possibility because of this. They can move through seawater to a certain extent and through earth and rock. The waves can follow the curve of the earth and even diffract around mountains. They can travel the earth several times before decaying to the point of being unusable.

They come with a caveat however: sheer size. ELF wavelengths are 6,000 km long at 50 Hz and 5,000 km long at 60 Hz. An ELF antenna needs to be somewhere between 23 and 45 kilometers long. The astute reader will notice that humans do not have antennas. And more to the point, we do not have antennas that stretch across many kilometers. These radio waves also need a lot of power, which is an argument against their use for human telepathy.

Because they are absolutely huge, the information that they can carry is quite limited. Using ELF waves for ordinary communication is quite slow. It can take 15 minutes just to send three letters. For that reason, scientists were pretty sure that they were not responsible for ESP. However, it has been shown that people can be affected by these long EM waves and there is always the possibility that humans are constructing images from limited data; something the human mind is known to do, so they were worth investigating.

There is really only one way to rule out these extremely long radio waves: you need to do your psychic experiment with a submarine. The astute reader will recognize that submarines are not commonly available, and in fact, even simply riding in one is a rare event. It was an experiment that needed to be done, but no one had the resources to do it. Vasiliev had attempted to enlist the help of the Russian Navy, but without success.

A Submarine Is The Only Way

The experiment finally went forward in 1977 using a Taurus research submarine thanks to the efforts of American parapsychologist Stephan Schwartz.

To absolutely, definitely rule out ELF waves, the sub would have to be able to dive to about 6,000 feet (1.8 kilometers), something the Taurus could not do. It was good down to a depth of about 1,200 feet (.37 kilometers). However, the remote viewers would be about 500 miles away, meaning that the signal would have to travel a long distance underwater, making it sufficiently weak to rule out ELF waves as a practical matter. Also, the submersible itself is a kind of super Faraday cage.

Sometimes science is like that. Real world considerations prevent ideal conditions and you just have to make do with what’s possible.

The Experiments

The plan was for two experiments to take place in California off the coast of Catalina using known remote viewing protocols and two elite level remote viewers. Ingo Swann and Hella Hammid.

The remote viewers would be at the SRI Institute in Menlo Park, California, which is on the peninsula south of San Francisco.

In the first experiment, remote viewers on the submersible looked for targets in the San Francisco Bay Area, correctly locating a double blinded target (an oak tree) in Portola Valley (a town located in the foothills above Menlo Park to the West.) An important consideration here is that the information was located quickly and with a wealth of detail, making ELF waves an improbable source.

Finding a Shipwreck

And here is where we merge a scientific mystery with a really cool story. I will quote from an article I wrote on this several years ago.

The remote viewers were given the task of finding a previously unknown shipwreck and the whole thing took place over three days in June of 1977, with the entire process captured on film. The viewers gave a location off of Santa Catalina island and said that it was the site of a ship that had sunk about 90 years ago, and had an early high pressure steam winch that had caught fire and sunk the ship. The viewers said that they would find the winch and the aft helm of the ship. They said that a granite block approx. 6’x4’x4′ would also be found. This information was turned over to an independent observer and notarized. This occurred of course, before the search for the ship’s location took place.

At first they had trouble finding the site, so the ship dropped a buoy to ping the exact location the psychics had specified, and a psychic on board the ship (Ingo Swann) gave them minor course corrections once they got there to find the wreck.

I can’t emphasize enough just how extremely hard it is to find something specific on the ocean floor if you don’t know exactly where it is and what you’re looking for. And this is even harder if the object has been on the ocean floor for a few decades.

It Was All Filmed

It might not be believable except for the fact that the entire process was caught on film, which was quite rare in 1977. The event was filmed by the TV show “In Search Of” narrated by Leonard Nimoy and the episode (S3, E17) aired January 25th, 1979.

“In Search Of” (S3, E17)

The first thing they found was the winch. (11:25 in the video), then they found the aft helm of the ship. Then they found the granite block. (12:40)

A few questions remained. Could the psychics have read about this shipwreck? Schwartz went to the Federal Bureau of Land Management, which tracks all known shipwrecks to find out. (14:18) They had no record of shipwreck in that spot nor of any wreck of that particular type of ship, which means that no one else would have either. There were over 53 shipwrecks in the Catalina area, so this wasn’t anything unusual.

The thickness of the marine growth matched the age of the sinking as predicted by the psychics, and they found charred pieces of wood which confirmed the fire. Nautical experts identified the winch as a type that had been discontinued because they had a habit of blowing up and sinking ships. It was a type of coaster ship that was bringing blocks of granite to San Francisco that were meant to be front door steps for row houses.

If you ever wanted The One Thing that provided proof of psychic ability, this experiment was as close to ideal as you could possibly find. There is very little to no ambiguity and there is almost nothing for skeptics to contest.

The Exorcism Of Janet Moses

The exorcism of Janet Moses is another story where someone suffering from mental health issues suffered a so-called exorcism that caused their death. Unfortunately, this story is just as horrific as some others. It leaves many people wondering if a lack of access to mental health services is breeding more of these incidents across the world?

What Happened To Janet Moses?

Janet Moses was killed during a so-called exorcism in New Zealand. Janet believed someone was going to get her and tried to kill her family. Instead of seeking mental health services, forty of her family members gathered at her grandmother’s home. They then proceeded to surround Janet and stomped on her feet while chanting “Go with peace and love”. Janet was also subjected to drowning, as her family threw bowls of water at her while she was being restrained. Janet had trouble breathing but her family believed she was struggling with demons. Eventually, Janet died in her bed from drowning.

The case actually dates back to October 2007 and none of the family members involved were actually convicted. However, the tragedy led to a documentary, which investigated if the case was actually a callous murder opposed to the family believing they could help Janet.

Janet Moses’ History

Janet Moses was a mum of two young children. She found herself in an unhealthy relationship with a man who frequently cheated on her. In addition to that, she also suffered mentally after the recent death of her grandmother.

Moses’ family, who contributed to her death, believed Janet became possessed after the theft of a stone lion from a hotel. This event occurred weeks before Janet started to behave weirdly. However, once Janet showed signs of mental illness, that’s where it all went wrong.

Instead of getting proper mental healthcare or seeing a licensed practitioner, Janet was taken to a kaumātua, an elder of the Maori community, whose advice is regularly sought in these matters. Unfortunately, this advice would also lead to the death of the young woman. In fact, the kaumātua told the family that the lion brought an evil presence inside the home and caused Janet’s psychotic behavior.

Why Was The Family Not Convicted?

The subsequent court trial involved nine family members who faced manslaughter charges. Each of the family members pleaded not guilty to their charges. Their defence attorney claimed that the family believed Janet was genuinely possessed and that they only tried to help her. The trial lasted for almost a full month and mainly involved a discussion on consent for exorcism, more specifically, if Janet had given her consent for the exorcism.

Throughout the trial, the lawyer claimed the family loved Janet and only wished to help her. He also claimed that they paid a heavy price in return, the death of a loved one.

Even the documentary maker eventually agreed with the findings, stating:

“It’s recognised there are times when hysteria can take over and people are not in control of their actions, almost like being controlled by a substance. You’re not in your right mind. Nobody intended to murder anyone.”

“When they discovered she was dead, they couldn’t quite believe it themselves and blamed it on the demon, not themselves. “It wasn’t calculated, it wasn’t deliberate and it was coming from a place of love, not malice.”

The trial certainly brings forward more questions about intent. Even if the family did not intend to kill Janet, she still lost her life due to religious superstitions and a lack of mental healthcare access. Who in the end is held responsible? At the end of this trial, nobody truly paid for the death of Janet Moses. Perhaps more investigation is required into these types of cases where the thin gray line between mental illness, religious superstition and the reality of real proven demonic possession can be identified.

What The Dickens?

Since writing an article called ‘Ghosts are not just for Christmas’, this led to further consideration regarding the history surrounding the English writer, Charles John Huffam Dickens, and perhaps where he may have got his inspiration and fascination for ghosts.

In ‘The Pickwick Papers’, his first successful publication – there are five ghost stories. This theme continues in ‘The Haunted Man’, ‘The Ghost’s Bargain’ and of course ‘A Christmas Carol’, which is possibly the most popular piece of fiction that he ever wrote.

Dickens had this to say about A Christmas Carol:

‘I have endeavored in this Ghostly little book, to raise the Ghost of an Idea, which shall not put my readers out of humor with themselves, with each other, with the season, or with me. May it haunt their houses pleasantly, and no one wish to lay it.

Their faithful Friend and Servant,

C. D.

Charles Dickens (1812-1870)

The height of Dickens’ writing was of course during the Victorian era, which was historically and evolutionarily interesting for many reasons. The period between 1837 and 1901 was very affluent for some and this afforded an increase in education, innovation and inventions like electricity, telephones, vaccinations, railways and motorcars.

A desire for modern thinking, along with an increase in immigration perhaps might explain what triggered some challenges towards religious ideas, which in turn expanded thoughts towards more scientific approaches regarding many discoveries, including exploring the paranormal, known as ‘The Age of Enlightenment’.

Largely because of a creepy death culture, most people including the monarch at the time, Queen Victoria, had an obsession with after death communication. Firstly, in 1846 with the clairvoyant Georgiana Eagle, at Osborne House. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert both participated in séances. In 1861 (the year Prince Albert died) on the Isle of Wight, Roberts James Less, a thirteen-year-old boy from Leicester, passed on a message from Albert to the Queen in which he called her by the pet name known only to her and her late husband. After her death, Queen Victoria was also reported to communicate from the other side to her last surviving daughter, Princess Louise, through the amazing direct voice medium Lesley Flint.

Mourning Was A Serious Affair

Whereas now, people are quickly removed from our sight and our homes upon dying. This didn’t happen during Victorian times. With no medicine as we know it now, life expectancy was half what it is today. Child and maternal mortality was high and hospitals were full of typhoid, diphtheria, cholera, smallpox and tuberculosis.

Mourning was also a very serious affair, particularly for women. Trinkets to preserve the memory of those loved ones taken too soon called ‘memento mori’ (literally meaning ‘remember you must die’) took many forms; wax death masks, locks of hair kept in lockets and post mortem, or death photos (daguerreotype).

An example of a postmortem photo, where the youngest child, deceased, has been included in a family picture.

Being buried alive was a constant fear for Victorians, which is another reason for them keeping corpses around for longer than we would now consider acceptable. They had to be sure that the corpse was in fact decomposing before being buried in the ground and even then with a bell and string attached to the coffin, just in case!

Victorian Seances

In Victorian England, séances were at the height of fashion, as was occultism. Other popular social activities included elaborate mechanical extravaganzas and pantomimes so it’s truly no wonder that so many writers were inspired to tell stories full of gothic dreams, demons, vampires, spirits, premonitions and second sight.

A Victorian seance

Even as a child, Dickens had a fascination with ghosts. His Nanny, Miss Mercy would tell him stories which fed his interest in otherworldly matters and indeed seemed to influence his thinking later, in adult life. Dickens appears to have considered greatly the importance of taking notice of the lives of those around us…

“It is required of every man,” the ghost returned, “that the spirit within him should walk abroad among his fellow-men, and travel far and wide; and, if that spirit goes not forth in life, it is condemned to do so after death.”

Dickens, although still at times rather skeptical, had by this time developed an interest in dabbling with the rising controversy of Animal Mesmerism, created by Franz Anton Mesmer. This involved putting people non-verbally into a hypnotic trance state to re-balance invisible ethereal ‘magnetic like’ energies and supposedly alleviate and cure illness. Dickens became exceptionally skilled at this method of healing and had particularly effective responses when treating John Leech, the illustrator for ‘A Christmas Carol’, for concussion. He also made frequent medicinal visits to Madame De La Rue (much to Mrs Catherine Dicken’s displeasure!) who claimed that her anxiety was being caused by a phantom that perused her. Dickens however, flatly refused to allow himself to be mesmerized or hypnotized, ever.

The Ghost Club – Precursor to The Society for Psychical Research

By this time, Victorian England had such a surge in arguments surrounding ghosts and the continuation of human existence beyond the physical, that pretty much everyone got involved, from politicians to scientists and others that were even considered just crazy.

But in 1855, some well to do gentlemen from Trinity College, Cambridge starting talking of setting up a paranormal organisation to research ghosts, apparitions and fraudulent mediums, an idea which came under attack by columnists in The Times. However, by 1862 this had emerged in London as a formal society, with Dickens being signed up as a founding member of ‘The Ghost Club’. The club later crumbled after the death of Dickens in 1870; such was his impetus within the society.

Thankfully, The Ghost Club rose from it’s grave on All Soul’s Day 1882, being reopened by the famous Reverend and medium William Stainton Moses and is still alive and kicking today with monthly meetings at the Victory Services Club in Central London. Membership is by invitation only and it’s possibly the oldest paranormal investigation group of it’s type in the world. In fact, it was the precursor to the world famous S.P.R. – ‘The Society for Psychical Research’. Dickens wasn’t the only author roped in to ghostly investigations at The Ghost Club. W.B Yeats and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle of Sherlock Holmes fame were also avid paranormal enthusiasts.

Birth of the Spirit Cabinet

The eccentric and secretive Ghost Club’s first serious investigation involved Ira Erastus Davenport and William Henry Davenport; brothers claiming to be mediums who could contact the dead. Travelling from America, with an act that needed to be debunked in one way or the other as mere illusions, or indeed something of a supernatural nature, The Ghost Club was keen to find out. Sadly, it is still unknown what results the society finally decided upon but given that the Davenport’s act was to launch what has become known as the spirit cabinet, still used with popularity within trance and physical mediumship today, perhaps there was really something in it!

It also still remains a mystery if the questioning Mr Dickens truly ever experienced a real afterlife communication of his own, although it is thought that he had indeed had encounters with ghosts. He apparently he turned up in spirit form during a séance in America, just five days after his own death, to depart final instructions for his then unfinished novel ‘The Mystery Of Edwin Drood’. The remaining team from The Ghost Club was unable to travel to America to verify the claim but thankfully, in spirit or otherwise, Charles Dickens will be forever immortalised by his marvellous contributions and his words.

‘An idea, like a ghost must be spoken to a little before it will explain itself.’Charles Dickens
